@mommagutz We also had a no from Ball State MT about 10 days ago and now are waiting to hear about Acting. Nothing yet, neither email nor call. So still in limbo. Does anyone know whether it is possible to tell what the artistic decision is by looking on the Ball State portal (my.bsu.edu)? We have checked the portal but are not sure what to make of what we see there.
@mumssm I don’t think the Ball State portal will tell you anything. My D got a no from them last Friday and there is no sort of update on portal. She was accepted academically but her portal still shows BFA Acting. But course this information when she filled out school application…
Thank you, @BrokeDad0530 – this is info is very useful. Sorry that your D got a no.
@mumssm she was disappointed but was ok with it. She did a walk in audition with them at Unifieds and had a pretty bad cold so she felt like she did well but her voice wasn’t all quite there. She already has a school but still waiting on word from Fordham and DePaul.
hi @BrokeDad0530 we’ve seen 1 Fordham admit already. Not sure if there are more. Last year DePaul updated their portals on March 13th (3-12 ) Perhaps they will do the same ( 3-12) I hope a few of our CC’s get a DePaul acceptance. The locals seem to have a smaller chance
it’s a Great program
@actingdreams I saw the Fordham admit. According to them they have rolling admissions from Feb 1 to April 1. DePaul said that it would be around 3/15. So we are just sitting by waiting impatiently. Lol. Me more so than my D it seems.
@BrokeDad0530 welcome to the club. I know that Fordham has a rolling admit but when we were there, they said Mid March. Perhaps they will make decisions by Friday! that would be great
There are no more auditions so they should just be angels and let us know
@actingdreams I check the Fordham portal every day as we were also told that admittance would be updated there. Ours is unchanged so we will see. Let’s hope. Mid March is right around the corner.
…Baldwin Wallace notification day - bracing ourselves. Good luck, everyone!
@mtmom911 That’s exciting! Good luck! My D had to cancel her audition a couple of weeks ago due to illness.
Can’t wait to see all of the acceptances!
Ugh, I’m so sorry. That stinks. My D was really sick at NY Unifieds…terrible timing. Wishing your D the best!
@mtmom911 haha i slipped a 2 page love note in my daughters lunch this morning before she left. Just some words of encouragement. She’s in such a good place i think but i know this day might still really sting. Ever since she attended BW’s summer conservatory she feels such a love and attachment for the school & the faculty & students she worked with- and i can’t blame her- it’s an amazing place. But my note kind of said no matter what the decision is, BW is a part of her story now forever- she really grew from her experience there- and she will now go on and bloom wherever she lands. I 100% believe that. I really am excited to hear those BW acceptances though. It really is a special place. (And if a miracle happens and she gets a yes- well… then… unexpected party in Baltimore tonight).
@savedrama4momma, Oooh, your post made me tear up. What a lovely note to slip into your daughter’s lunch! Best of luck to her wherever she ends up.
@blessedgirl3 truth be told, i actually shed a tear while writing the note. This process has been emotional and stressful yet amazing and special. I’m in utter awe of the strength of these MT kids and I’m feeling really proud of my girl too. I don’t think any of her classmates at school or my mom friends here really comprehend what a tough process this is- but i sure know you all do on this forum!!!
@savedrama4momma the tough process will serve them well because an MT education isn’t easy and takes a very special person. Soon this will all be beautiful memory.
@Ducky312 i totally agree. One thing I’m also realizing is that no audition is a wasted experience either… just part of the process and the training and the reaching.
That’s so lovely :). These kids can be so proud! <3
My D and I were talking about how valuable the whole process has been. It has been like one giant auditioning workshop/boot camp. She feels like she has grown so much from all of it no matter what happens… and I agree. Wouldn’t it be great for them to earn a college credit after surviving all of this
^^^I suggested it as a senior project! No joke.
@artskids yep! D is doing just that!
