I heard a couple of guys got into TCU MT today. Has anyone else heard?
I almost never post on this site, just lurk like many others, but I’m feeling especially annoyed today. My D has applied and auditioned for 22 programs, mostly MT but some Acting as well. She’s had 9 rejections, 1 acceptance and 1 waitlist. Today she gets a phone call from Illinois Weslyan – and she’s excited thinging they’re calling to offer her a spot in their MT class – but instead they offer her a spot in their BA Theatre Arts program. ■■■?? Who does that??Seems pretty crappy. We have 8 more schools to hear from so I’m still hoping for the best but gosh this is just about the hardest things I’ve experienced as a mother. Want to be positive and supportive but inside I’m dying a thousand torturous deaths. Ugh!

@jaycee17 Sorry to hear about IL Wesleyan. One good thing about them is that they give really good Merit and Talent Aid. It’s also a nice campus. Your daughter will get into her perfect school 
@JayCee17 most of us have been there! One acceptance is great! So is one waitlist. This is how these kids’ lives will be-assuming they stay the course, and pursue performing after college. That is why we cast a wide net and apply/audition at 22 programs in the first place: The odds are tough.
If the acceptance, waitlist, and/or 8 programs still out there are a match-your D is doing great…way better than my D last year! And if maybe possibly she doesn’t want to go to the acceptance school or the WL school, or the other eight (that’s a lot-a lot can happen!)-there are certainly options. I can understand why the call frustrated you. This process is TOUGH when you’re a mom. Stay positive and let the next few weeks play out. Wishing your D the best results, and peace and happiness for you both!
I am a long time lurker here, having gone through this last year and AGAIN this year. For everyone who is worried about your S/D getting into a program, I understand completely the pain and anxiety you are all going thru. My D was only able to attend 6 auditions last year due to being horribly sick, and was accepted to one BFA MT program. After visiting the school, she realized that it wasn’t the one for her, and she decided to take a gap year. The thought of having to go thru this again was mind numbing to me, but it turned out to be the greatest year of her life, where she worked professionally, took dance classes and had great success at an EPA call that ended with agents seeking her out. None of this would’ve happened if she had attended the school that she was accepted to. What I am trying to say is, if your child doesn’t end up where they want to be, they can turn it around and make the best out of the situation through extreme hard work, dedication and never giving up on their dream! Now I must crawl back under my rock and relentlessly refresh every college portal

We had 8 rejections up until Monday and just received three acceptances and a waitlist via email these last three days…3 of the 4 from her top schools…I might be able to sleep in finally!

Unfortunately we should have cast a wider net, my D only auditioned at 5 schools and still has a 6th audition 3/24 at Suny Fredonia. Recd one rejection from UMich and no word from the others. Hearing others have gotten calls/envelopes from one or 2 of them makes me verrrry nervous. If we only had just one MT acceptance, I could breathe…
@JayCee17 when did your daughter audition for IWU? (I auditioned recently and haven’t heard back anything)

Anyone else waiting to hear/heard from OU? My D is getting antsy since she hasn’t gotten a call, just wondering if we’re alone in this…
@raddyjo OU is still auditioning. Not sure if they are a school that waits until the end of auditions, or if they are rolling. I can’t remember!
Have not heard from OU either. Very nervous!!! We auditioned the 23 of Feb.
