Class of 2022 (the journey); sharing, venting, discussing

PP is a no for us too. No from the Dance Department as well. I guess we aren’t meant for Pittsburgh.

Point Park is a “yes” for my D!

Yeah @jenniferm1973!

Hugs to everyone getting not-so-great news and congrats to @jenniferm1973! If you or your D have any questions about PPU, feel free to reach out. My D is a sophomore BFA MT there.

So sorry for Point Parks No’s but it’s nice to hear of a yes! Congratulations @jenniferm1973

It’s a no for my D also…had high hopes for this one, so it stings a little (ok, a lot) esp after such a positive audition. :frowning:

Anything from Roosevelt yet anyone? This whole wait is just horrible AGH

@jenrenalt isn’t this the worst? I am also interested in Roosevelt decisions. I don’t dare ask my daughter. I thought I read here this week but not too sure

Another sad dancer here

@emdcollege It really is, we are waiting to hear from three other schools, and have at least 1 waitlist so far. This month has been just so tedious…

@Trish0118 , @mumssm is correct! I don’t think all rejections have been sent yet, but they have offered all acceptances and I think they still have some rejections to go. Sorry for the unclear post!

I’m sorry to ask a shallow question - did the Pace Acting calls actually go out. I left the parent FB group where I usually find that stuff out. It was just too much…
but did they? I cannot find anything on cc . Thanks and sorry-fever brain…

I’m totally defeated. 2 no’s today PP and jmu
I’m losing hope. That just sapped any positive energy of what I had left from an earlier post. 4 schools left …2 of which would be a complete settle and no desire to go. No need to comment I just wanted to vent. I think I’ve completely given up. I will post again only if I have goood news. I’m too depressing

Oh @Trish0118 I am SO sorry. I know how you feel. Hugs. I have gained so much weight these last few months due to the stress. I feel for you and your D, I really do.

Did anyone apply to Northwestern and send in a supplement? My S’s grandma wanted him to apply even though his grades don’t warrant an acceptance and we have been getting monthly invoices from them with a credit that keeps increasing each time. I thought perhaps they were crediting us for the supplement fee but I am not sure. Weird, I guess a phone call is in order.

I am sorry to all the PP rejections. I feel for you all.

My d heard roosevelt notifies tomorrow

A no for my D from PP. She texted me about it, and said I was sorry, and she texted back “It’s Aight gal!” This was a hard one for me - but an easy one for her. She doesn’t want to stay in Pgh. I wanted her home! But it was the only local school that she auditioned for!

Hi everyone - as you know there are a bunch of us mama’s from last year still lurking on the boards…because our kiddo’s are off doing their thing and we miss them. I have been reading your posts and my heart goes out to you. I want to share something I read the other day when I was looking at some old playbill posts. It’s about the actress Jessica Vosk who was an Elphaba. What a path she has had!
She went to Hartt for MT - was unhappy and left and transferred to Montclair where she got a degree in Communications and Public Investor relations!! She worked on Wall St. until she was 27. Then she decided to try and pursue her earlier dream.
What a story!! She didn’t even go to school in the end for MT. There are so many paths. You could get a degree in theater from a lovely liberal arts college and continue studying voice for example. She was 27!!! Last year my girl was only 17 as I sure some of your kiddo’s are now. Who knows what they will be like in 10 years?! But they all have the ability to be amazing.
This path is not for the faint of heart. I wish all the best. If any one needs info on my d’s school you can pm me and I am happy to help. Remember there are so many ways to follow your dream-

@singoutlouise wow what a story!! Thank you for sharing. You’re so right. You never know where you will end up.

Yes for us from Point Park!! Very excited D at our house.
