I would encourage everyone that is waiting on acceptances, , notifications now to read some stories on the other thread “After graduation experiences”…good stuff to read on there and definitely helpful in looking at the big picture. Seems like there are lots of paths coming out of MT programs. Regardless of what school you are graduating from!
@mezzomother, congrats! My prior offer stands; if you or your D have any questions about the program, feel free to reach out to me. My D is a sophomore BFA MT.
Congrats @jenniferm1973 and @mezzomother!
Sorry about the PP bad news today.
Congrats to the yesses. This process is truly a roller coaster ride.
I have a junior BFA MT at PP. You can reach out to me too.
Oh @CTDramaMom reminded me…congrats on whoever got into Point Park today! It seems like no one ever gets in there! LOL , especially girls and I remember last year no one on this forum seemed to either! Legit everyone just always says "Its a no from PP’
:((
@HopeinMT - My S applied to Northwestern and submitted the MT supplement. We have not gotten any bill like you are describing. You should call them.
Another No from PP. Congrats to all that were accepted.
@jenniferm1973 sorry I thought I was replying directly to a post. I was referring to calls for Elon.
@laylamom I know of one call for Pace Acting that happened yesterday.
Thanks @frontrowmama . My daughter got an email today telling her she has been accepted to theatre and performance track. She’s not interested in this. I am guessing this os a redirect? A rejection from Acting BfA?
Pace is so darn confusing.
@laylamom I thought there are 2 BFA’s 1 is Theatre/Acting and the other is FTCV . The Theatre one is directed more for traditional theatre/acting work. The other is acting for Film, Tv, Commercial and Voice Over
Yes @actingdreams It’s from Purchase not Pace. I have a fever and am this spaced! Very sorry.
She got this acceptance on paper before she auditioned at Purchase. Is THIS A NO FROM THEIR DAMN BFA? So confusing. This will hurt.
@laylamom I’m sorry that you’re not feeling well. All of this is so crazy. I had to go back to the common app to see how many schools were applied to by my Son. At least you received an email. We haven’t received anything from Suny Purchase and it was high on my S. List in the very beginning…
So I believe that with Suny Purchase if you aren’t accepted for the BFA, they will direct you to BA in Theatre/Acting
I remember when he applied, a few days later they stated that they’ve received the 2nd option of BA (he didn’t want that and emailed them and said that he’s not interested in BA). I guess they automatically put it on every application. At least you’ve heard. I’m sorry if it’s not what she wants. We’re still waiting to hear something
@actingdreams no news is good news! Hang in there.
She already got gthis acceptance even before her audition. I was hoping there was still hope but I think you’re right. Ouch
My friend just got a call from pace FTCV (4:40 Midwest time)! Ironically, her prescreen was rejected for MT and the same thing happened to me with IWU! Thought I’d share that-redirection, not rejection
congratulations to your friend @mtmaybe! exciting
I can attest that @GSOMTMom rocks when it comes to PPU advice. She was invaluable to me. And her D is awesome, too!
@nanamama mine had a great audition at CMU. Passed to Barbara, did a third monologue, a full on discussion about what’s on her resume and her current role (and how she sees it as ‘perfect for her’) and a discussion about her current HS/program. Got the rejection e-mail Monday.
D got a yes for Point Park!!!
I feel compelled to tell my D’s experience with SCAD. D auditioned at unifieds a few years back with SCAD. The woman representing the school had told us that a woman that is in many commercials went to their program to study comedy and graduated from their school. This particular woman is a spokesperson for a company often advertising on TV and we knew her very well from these commercial spots. We were very excited about this. I subsequently googled this person to find out that she never went to SCAD or anywhere close to the school. We promptly took SCAD off our list due to their dishonesty. Just be careful and do your research. Hopefully things have changed since then.
