Class of 2022 (the journey); sharing, venting, discussing

@mtplayer I believe my D had a (rejection) letter on her portal. It was hard to find.

We are also still waiting for Molloy @loribelle

Congratulations @fancytheatrekid and @Trish0118! I’m thrilled for both of you.

Everyone else keep hanging in there! We are in the home stretch!!

@Trish0118 I’m so excited for your daughter and family! Hartt has an amazing program!

@Trish0118 and @fancytheatrekid so happy for you!

@Trish0118 That is the best news!!! So glad for your D and for you!!

Are we the only ones STILL waiting for Hartt?

No, lots of us still waiting.

@fancytheatrekid yay!!! so happy for you!

@Trish0118 woo hoo!!! What great news!

@Noreplays2018 if it’s ok I can pm you about Elon so as not to clog up the thread

I can’t figure out how to send a PM right now. Haha. My D is a frosh MT and was cast in the fall play - there were only 8 or 9 actors and 2 of them were MTs. The other MT, a male, had a principal role. MTs are required to audition for all musicals and plays. Since my D is just a frosh, I can’t speak as to whether BFA Acting are cast in lead roles in musicals but I can say with a lot of certainty that there have been BFA Acting students in ensemble. If you want to PM me, please feel free!

Congratulations @Trish0118 and @fancytheatrekid ! @Trish0118 I almost burst into happy tears when I read your daughter had gotten accepted to Hartt! I know someone from high school who graduated from there last May!

@journeytothepast Thank you! That’s so sweet!

So happy for you and your Ds, @fancytheatrekid and @Trish0118 !!!

Fyi for others waiting for Hartt - my daughter just spoke to them and they said the info is “being mailed out now,” so if she doesn’t get it by mid next week to let them know. Mid. Next. Week. Lol.

Yeah -I heard the same thing from Hartt. But I’ve also heard several people who were told over the phone they were admitted over the past 2 days. I called twice and was told that she didn’t have access to the decisions. So…unless I have had the bad luck of talking to the wrong person at admissions both times, I think that maybe my D didn’t get into Hartt or is on a waitlist. We’ll see, I guess.

Hello! I have been lurking these past few months and have finally gained the courage to start posting. I have learned so much from this forum. Thank you to everyone who has shared their story.
The quick about my son. He has always loved singing, did a couple of plays in middle school. We moved and found a high school that had an amazing company program. He was a lead in three of the productions. Won numerous competitions. But beyond that, no real experience. He also only started taking dance lessons until 16.
He applied to 17 schools. Passed every prescreen. But then rejections started rolling in. It was heartbreaking to watch him start to doubt himself.
He finally got a yes from University of Utah. And then a priority waitlist from Ball State - but got the acceptance call two days later. And then just heard from Hartt today. He is over the moon.

I guess that wasn’t short lol. Anyway, the only school of the three he has seen in Ball state. Came to visit and he fell in love. Bought his sweatshirt and i think has mentally committed. I’m wondering if i should push him to look at the other schools? Or would you just let him commit already?

And if anyone can shed some light on Ball state v Utah v Hartt i would appreciate it. There’s obviously a huge difference in cost.

Congrats to all!

@Luvmykids08 for me the huge difference in cost would be the determining factor between those three schools. I don’t know much about U of Utah, but I know both Ball State and Hartt MT programs have good reputations.

@fancytheatrekid and @Trish0118 Congrats! Yay! We’re in the same boat here since we only had one acceptance, (two if you count one of our more local programs) Now we visit!
