Ok dumb question…some of you have been kind enough to offer to DM with me…but I can’t figure out how to do it! I tried clicking on your names and looking for the orange “message” button, but there isn’t one. Is it possible that my setting are set up incorrectly?

Ok…so to get up to ten…and hopefully to help anyone out there…I’ll share some of my experiences. Have a son who is a junior at CCM.
He originally did a year at Emerson, but although it was an INCREDIBLE program that I can’t say enough good things about, it wasn’t as focused on dancing as he wanted. He is a natural born dancer
So he took a gap year after his year at Emerson and took some dance and voice lessons (we live near chicago) and then did the whole audition process over again.
2nd time around he got into almost every school he auditioned for. BoCo, Baldwin, Millikin, you name it. He ended up at CCM where he has been for the past 3 years.

CCM is an incredible program. Very tough, but very good. Most of the teachers are very invested in the student’s success. Some, on the other hand, are very, very, tough. Critical might be the best word. If your student is sensitive, this might be a rough time
CCM does a showcase in New York. A lot of student’s get signed with agents on the spot. So that is the upside! My S also had the opportunity to direct this year, which was a good rounding out experience for him.
So now our D is at the tale end of her auditions, and as I said has been accepted at LIU Post, Viterbo and U of Utah. SHe’s waitlisted at Marymount. If anyone can share any input about our choices, that would be so appreciated. Also, if I can be of help with my reflections on Emerson or CCM, feel free to PM me. Thanks for your patience!

@JuliaVail Unfortunately I am not allowed to PM, apparently I haven’t done enough posts!! Could you just share a little about the MT Program…How many dance/voice classes a week, are the teachers invested in the kids’ success, do they have a showcase, etc?

@reluctantmtmom1 Wwould like to hear more about Emerson pros/cons especially details on dance - as well as rigor in Acting, voice, music.
