@DramaQueen219 , we’re leaning toward Hartt (D is sitting in on classes there tomorrow) just because she feels it would be a better fit, but she did like UArts a lot.

@DramaQueen219 - Woohoo!!! I am so happy for you both. Those are great choices! The reality is your D was just as talented before she got those acceptances - but the validation must be really sweet. Congratulations!
@lotstolearn We know this, but it was just a tough reality to believe. She did nothing different for these auditions. Trust me, the thought of “where did she go wrong” entered my mind, but it is certainly not my place to say to her “do you think you want to mix it up for these?” She had been working on her pieces since last spring, and I trusted that these were the right pieces to best showcase her abilities.
In fact, the UArts audition was digital: the same videos she sent in for prescreens in the fall (where she passed all but one) and her one WL school was via digital audition as well. Ironically, she hates the idea of video auditions. And the AMDA one was recorded, which she was told would be seen by others who weren’t there that day.
@DramaQueen219 Yippeee! Congratulations to you and your D! I was so thrilled to find this update. Two offers and a professional audition. I love the comment by @lots2learn above, so well said! We know folks who are happy at UArts, and I can see there are people on this board who can advise on that one. UArts is more of a classic BFA, AMDA is more unique I believe. Congrats again, I am so happy for you.

Hi @mteverlasting - there have been many stories on the board of students in your D’s position who benefited from a gap year. @owensfolks D took a gap year this year and reapplied and it really paid off.
