@jrydholm I live nearby and have heard the opposite about their vocal program specifically. The dance there is good but not great. Acting is their best quality and alum are working well in DC.
@dontaskme1 Well that is concerning to hear. If my D does not get into JMU though she may have to choose between Mary Washington and Christopher Newport if she stays in state. As a bigger school I would hope they have some better advantage. Have you heard anything specific about the other two?
@DramaQueen219 we are! We got a travel alert from the airline to check the status of the flights often and something from the school as well. Fingers crossed!

@dramaQueen219 @PaMTmom I actually live 45 minutes away from Ann Arbor. We are expecting LOTS of snow 6-10 inches If you are flying in tonight you should be fine. Unless you are flying from Chicago. My oldest daughter is flying in tonight to see her sister’s show tomorrow. Her flight this evening from Chicago is cancelled. Once you are here you will be fine. Just allow enough time for the drive to campus tomorrow morning. Also, dress warm and bring boots. Welcome to Michigan! We did UM last Friday and it was a wonderful experience.
Has anyone’s Student who auditioned for Ithaca in NYC or on campus in January had their portal change to show the audition results to show as “What We Have” instead of “What We Need”?
@DramaMan Yes, My D’s changed today as well. Not sure if that means a letter is coming soon or if they’re just finally getting around to reviewing it. Sounds like if a rejection letter is coming, her profile will disappear soon. She auditioned in NYC on 1/21 in the AM session.
@MI3rdClosingAct @DramaQueen219 well our flight was just cancelled. We are trying to decide if we should make the 9 hour drive or not. Is this storm local to the Detroit area?
PaMTmom ours was cancelled too. we changed it to early tomorrow morning. Spoke to the school already. Assuming we can get out at all, we’ll get there late for the checkin, but can still audition.
I have a friend in MI, she said it’s not supposed to be anything major (for them). Anywhere from 2-10, last she told me.
I’m in Michigan - and in Ann Arbor they are predicting anywhere between 8-12" - @DramaQueen219 - your friend must live further north… but down in the Metro Detroit area we are bracing for the biggest snowstorm of the year (at least that’s what they are telling us…) Good luck to everyone trying to get to UMich for an audition tomorrow… it will be a very snowy day.
@DramaQueen219 We didn’t have any luck finding an early AM flight so we are going to suck it up and make the drive and hope we make it in before the snow. We are renting an SUV in hopes our return flight isn’t cancelled. Hope to see you there tomorrow!

@PaMTmom good luck. Where are you coming from? I am hoping we make it off the ground in the morning. If not, it’s not looking good for rescheduling (they offered her another date for next Friday, but we’re heading to another audition on Saturday, so that would be a tight squeeze).

@PaMTmom becareful. Airlines often cancel reservations if you don’t use the outward bound ticket… so make sure you check with the airline to see if you still have a reservation.

@DramaQueen219 @PaMTmom @kategrizz She is 100% correct. It is going to be quite a storm. Good news is that it will arrive around 3 am Friday and continue all day.They have cancelled school and opening night for the musical for D. Friday will not have many flights I am guessing. I am not sure how long you are planning on visiting however, we are going to be getting more snow late Saturday into early Sunday. Not as much only 2-4 inches. Please travel safe and BAL to anyone auditioning this weekend.
@MI3rdClosingAct I’m really annoyed that they canceled our flight. We would have been in the air already, and landed before it started. Now we’re scheduled to fly out later, which isn’t looking good at all.
@kategrizz that was an earlier report. And yes, she’s about 45 minutes away from Ann Arbor. The school didn’t seem to be concerned about the amount (but than again, that was about 8 hours ago too). Either way, if we can’t get there, it doesn’t matter, because we’re screwed.
