Accepted! OOS 1270 SAT, 27 ACT, 3.85 UW GPA
Extracurriculars- varsity softball (team captain 3 years, varsity 4), varsity basketball, varsity golf, varsity cheerleader (4 years, captain senior year), NHS, Student Council (4 years, Secretary senior year), Scholastic Bowl, Yearbook, Illinois Senate Page, Illinois Girls State
Essay- about a relationship I had with a student at my school with down syndrome
Jobs- Gate Worker at local sports complex, babysitter
Major- Political Science

Honestly did not expect to get in, I have been a Florida Gators fan since I was in 6th grade so this is like a dream come true! Sadly, with it being an OOS school I pretty much have no chance of going there because my stats will not be good enough for scholarships and I have a twin brother going to college at the same time as me. I come from a VERY SMALL high school in the midwest (I have 32 in my class) so I may have had an advantage being the only one from my school to apply.

@CV6780 Yes, the application will be created. The student needs to upload college transcripts from each school attended and an answer will be given as quickly as possible with the colleges weighing in with regards to major.

Does anyone know if you can still live in Hume Hall without being in the honors program?

@Melissa96 Thanks for the quick response. We were not expecting an admission decision as he didn’t apply until early January.

We are so excited! We worried that his GPA might be a little low and essays are not always his strong suit (though we thought they were good), so we weren’t confident.

My son got accepted but his admissions letter did not say anything about honors college (he did apply) does that mean he did not get into it? Or he can still be notified of honors admission?
SAT 1480
ACT 32
GPA 3.6 UW, 4.99 W
Great EC, leadership positions all 4 years.
All dual enrollment classes since junior year, he will graduate with an AA.

Seriously considering USF … they offered him a TON of $$ and hear their engineering programs are as good as UF’s…

@Melissa96 Just one more question. Do the college transcripts need to be official?

How do you check your financial aid award ??

@biscuiteers This appears to work: https://cur.aa.ufl.edu/scholarships/university-scholars-/

The link in the admission letter didn’t. I think our kids would have a lot in common!

@CV6780 no we will work with unofficial until the student is admitted and then we would need an official transcript for transfer credit.

My DS was accepted but letter doesn’t say anything about engineering specifically. Shouldn’t admission be specific to this program?

@countertenormom a student is admitted to their major - with a few exemptions that require auditioning. The major can be changed at preview if the student changes their mind between now and then (and of course after they become students for a few semesters).

Accepted
In-State
SAT 1340
UW 3.9
W 4.45
Probably not attending bc UNC Chapel Hill offered a full tuition and room and board scholarship. Congrats to all accepted!

I know dorm preferences are based on when you applied but now that students have been accepted what are the next steps in choosing a dorm?
