Decisions don’t come out until February…how do you know you were accepted…just curious?

Huh, that’s interesting. This is the first I’ve heard of anyone getting accepted before the official date. I guess for super exceptional students (you seem to be Ivy league status from what I saw you post elsewhere) they make exceptions.
I have NEVER heard of anyone hearing early- They do not make exceptions! I have a freshman at UF and he found out he was accepted the second Friday in Feb 2018- maybe that person who is stating they were admitted is a transfer???..but I 100% don’t believe it. My daughter is waiting for her decision and that will be available in Feb-my kids are 13 months apart

I heard from a friend that her son though was deferred at UPenn, got admission at Gainesville. I was under the impression that it was in early February.
My daughter had applied to UF but withdrawal as she got her ED1 @ Brandeis U. She got an email back saying it’s sad to see she Withdrawing. We didn’t made much of it. We will just check after holidays more out of curasity. She withdrew on 15th Dec to help kids from her school. She got letter on 18th.

I’m sure there are some exceptions (a handful). For example, several freshman football recruits have been allowed to register early (this January for classes), so it happens. However, for 99+%, it’s the 2nd Friday in February.
Yes he is a recruited athlete, hence the early offer of admission
When are decisions supposed to come out? I keep hearing February 8th and February 9th

Hello everyone! New to this thread. Would everyone post their stats here after getting accepted? Just curious as I have applied to UF and wondering if I will be accepted at all. OOS, Top 5% in a class of 800, 1410 SAT, some community service and no great ECs worth mentioning, choir 4 years… AP scholar with distinction and will have a total of 11+ APs by end of Senior year…Keeping my fingers crossed. Applied for Engineering

My daughter applied. She won’t hear until February. She has applied to about five other schools as well but UF is one of her top two choices (Davidson is the other one). She will have a tough decision to make if she gets into both. We shall see.
@Embeechristmas I’m an in-state student but you seem to have an above average SAT score for UF and a nice class ranking (AP’s certainly will help too). I think you have a pretty good shot!

Does it seem like there is less activity on this board vs last year? The 2022 discussion thread was quite long and quite active, even before decisions were announced. Just seems an awful lot quieter this year. Good luck to all applicants. Wish they would figure out a different way to speed things up. Will be going through it again next year with our daughter.
