Class of 2023 MT Artistic Acceptance Notifications: How/When/Where

@DramaLlama18 Believe that Boston University gives a combined academic/artistic decision. As for Muhlenberg, it’s a non-audition program, so there’s no artistic decision. However, many of the prospective theater students, including my daughter, auditioned for a talent scholarship.

@lojosmo My daughter read that Point Park was sending out the decision emails tomorrow, 3/13.

@OhBoyMom101 My D said they mentioned 4/1 in the callbacks.

@DramaLlama18 BU will give you one decision.

University of Miami is on Spring Break this week.

D just got “priority waitlisted” by Ball State, via phone call, so sounds like they are moving on decisions again this week.

Congrars @cloud7or8 We are waiting for Ball State too. Fingers crossed.

I read in a FB group that tomorrow is a big day for decisions. Any idea what schools? I don’t see any March 13 dates on the list.

@azmtmom13 I know that Point Park is tomorrow, not sure about other schools.

@azmtmom13 I have no personal info, but saw in an earlier post that Point Park may send notifications tomorrow. Not sure about others.

Just FYI, D just got a call from Unv of OK asking for her to verify her email. Apparently they’ve had issues with their email system and many are bouncing back? I’m guessing we’re awaiting bad news…just wondering why they wouldn’t just tell her on the phone lol. It would be more merciful…

Pace is now just being cruel it seems. We are assuming no phone call at this point makes an acceptance unlikely. But still getting a Pace email every few days, inviting to an accepted student’s PaceBound event, asking for documentation for I20 visa for international student, general congratulations from the academic side of the university. Also a previous email with academic merit award. But no notification of artistic acceptance or more likely rejection or waitlist…why can’t they do this better? If you’re in, great! If you’re not, please say so and shut off the spam.

@CanaDad re pace. I couldn’t agree more. Oddly, I’m thankful we knew at unifieds D wasn’t in the hunt anymore. Didn’t make the call back round. It hurt at the time (other fantastic options so she’s good) BUT pace was a biggie for her and if we were STILL hanging on like so many … just ugh. She hasn’t even received the official no. I mean why haven’t those gone out. It just seems cruel and unusual. Coupled with what you mentioned about the constant communication from the academic side.

@AZMTMom13 I feel like JMU will also be on the 13th.

@lovetoact @azmtmom13 think Elon and Syracuse expected at some point this week as well.

@azmtmom13 @lovetoact although Syracuse on spring break this week

@laundrylawyer I don’t think a Spring Break notification would be odd. It’s a break for the student at most institutions, not for faculty and staff. At my institution, staff still work and faculty may not be on campus, but they are usually doing some sort of work. My chairs are all working too unless they’ve taken vacation time. If I were doing this, SB would be the perfect time to get the work done.

@Canadad @morgan830 Pace is the worst about calling, emailing and mailing tons of information! And D2 was an alternate for FTVC last year, but didn’t get the notification until 3/23 by mail. Maybe they’ll notify sooner this year!

Tea leaf reading request. BoCo calls a few days ago to say it still needs my kid’s transcript. (They have it now.) Good? Neutral? Can’t see how it would be bad but who the heck knows, right? Kid’s take is they know their decision.

I know nobody REALLY knows the answer but what the heck let’s talk about it anyway.

What an utterly insane process. And like others on this thread, I am mucho ticked with Pace. My kid is a vet of years in professional and high-end community theater and has had boatloads of experience with rejection so it’s not that part that’s so rough. It’s the sheer chaos and disarray of the process. OK, and the baring your soul for a minuscule chance part is a little hard too.

Anyway, we have 4 down: 1 admit, 1 waitlist, 2 denials. That leaves 11 to go and a few of them should be this week.

Cue the goddam music: The waiting is the hardest part. Every day you see one more card. You take it on faith, you take it to heart. The waiting is the hardest part.

Don’t let it kill you, baby. Don’t let it get to you

@MTthreats Wondering the same thing here. We got the same request and the admissions officer said “congrats on completing the audition”. I read on BoCo’s webpage that if you are deemed artistically worthy, they then do a academic review. I’d like to think they didn’t ask for transcripts when they could see the auditions results just to give a rejection, but nothing really surprises me in the process anymore! My kid is refusing to talk about it!
