Does anybody know if all the U of MN/Guthrie acceptances have gone out? Friend received an interestingly worded letter that sounds like maybe he was on the wait list but the letter also mentioned not having all applicants reviewed yet due to the virus.
NYU WL for my D. There was a form to fill out asking if want to be on the WL (she does) and saying they don’t want anything else sent other than an updated transcript or updates on awards/leadership positions. I am taking this to mean you don’t contact the school separately expressing interest like you might for other schools? Also, does anyone know how much movement the NYU WL gets? Do they WL you for a particular studio or just all studios. Just wondering how they allocate the committed kids and then any WL kids that come off? Thx!
@Abutilon - Congrats! That means they loved your D but didn’t have room to admit everyone they loved.
This is the WL thread from last year ( It’s under the MT board but the students waiting were both MT an Acting):

I think the WL pool is a single one for Tisch Drama . You don’t need to contact them just let them know you want to stay on. Someone last year reported that a friend came off the WL in April. NYU’s WL admit process frequently goes into June but I think Tisch closes sooner. This however, is the weirdest of years and the pandemic fear may affect yield as parents choose to keep their kids closer to home? Not sure but I hope that works in your D’s favor!
@CaMom13 Thank you! Fingers crossed.
Congrats, @Abutilon, on the WL. Fingers crossed for movement on that list. ?
My S received a TXST Priority Hold email asking about updates on other schools and he didn’t know he was in the PH group. Last he heard was a rejection in March. He’s reached out to them for clarification. Also has no update from Purchase. Last he heard was they were going to update everyone my mid-March. Anyone have similar experiences?
Wish I could help. It’s good that your s is reaching out for clarification. I know there was a write-up by a dad that talked about his son’s waitlist and TXST. I’ll try to find it for you.
@prarie WOW! For real? That’s awesome - I hope it’s legit! TXST was super high on my D’s list, but she also received a rejection in March. If she were to all of a sudden get a priority hold email, she would freak out! Let us know what you hear.
@closemama S is not holding his breath… seems like either the March rejection or the April PH is in error. It would be awesome if the PH is correct… hopefully he’ll hear back, soon!
Does he still have no update from Purchase? I know someone who heard from them towards the middle/end of March. Hopefully, he will hear soon. Hope this helps!
@actorv he got a reply, it was a no
So sorry to hear that! Fingers crossed for the rest.
Yes, he feels he is in a good place and hearing a decision ?
Pace acceptances, and alternates / waitlists.
FYI - because of university policy, the Pace school of performing arts cannot offer spots to alternates or waitlisted students after May 1st. (This has been the case for the last several years, so I suspect this is the case now too).
So if you are an accepted student who has decided to release your spot - notify the school the sooner the better. Also, if you are an alternate, stay in touch with Wayne to express continued interest. Spots can open up 24-72hr before the May 1st deadline, and they likely would offer the spot to someone who they know would accept outright given the tight turnaround. BAL.
