I called yesterday and only spoke to a student working in AO, but he said early-to-mid December, which is also what is says on website. Will they really let people know in November?
Does anyone know how we know when there is a decision? The portal doesn’t give any information. Will there be somewhere on the portal that will alert us that an admission decision has been made? How will the portal change?
@Illinoismom23 In the past, acceptance packets have gone out via snail mail.
When USC visited my son’s High School in October, he asked and they said notifications will start Dec 9-13 for EA. Check portal often then. Email may come too, but that was not asked.
I looked at website again, and it says on or before week of Dec 13th, so I could see how they might start letting some people know in November.
It’s hard to say… my niece heard on November 6th (2017, in state) A friend’s daughter heard last year on Nov. 12 (2018, out of state). I wonder if students who applied earlier get sent first? This is driving me crazy! Such an exciting but nerve wracking time!
My son looked at his portal this morning and said it has changed a bit from the last time he logged in. Decisions coming soon?1?
What was different? I looked on my childs, It doesn’t really show much.
My daughters looked different too. Test scores under their own tab and at the bottom it says enrollment management. Not sure if it means a thing or not.
My child has a home button and a test score button that lists her score as verified. It says enrollment management too. Were these things always there? Does anyone know or not have these things?
I don’t think we ever scrolled to the bottom of the page before today so enrollment management may have always been there. The test scores used to be listed on the home page
I think I remember seeing enrollment management at the bottom before. You can’t click on it, but I remember seeing the words.
The page definitely looks different. The test and home tabs are new. Fingers crossed that means decisions soon.
I called AO this morning, and kid working the phones (not a true counselor) said that they had more applications than ever this year, but she also indicated that some kids might hear before the Dec 9th. She couldn’t say b/c she’s not totally in the know, but she said she’s heard that people might start hearing something soon. I’ve got some back-ups, but this would be nice.
Isn’t this the first year they are on the Common App and Coalition App? I’m sure that’s part of the reason.

How do you see it on the portal? Is there a section that shows messaging?
Once you click into the application the top line (above all the checklist info) now says Status Update and then View Decision Update.
