Class of 2024 Early Action Thread

but what kind of semester or trimester are you on? “X”'s are generally not good, thats why they are normally red. It may be your school is on a different schedule or those schools have reported back information but not finalized for first semester. Many colleges ask for junior year credentials, mid year, and then final.

I feel this is speculation, esp. if “Many in your school” and the ones “with stronger stats” as normally a school will not have a large number of EA admits at once.
IMO

A final high school transcript is what you send after senior year is over for the Univeristy to make sure your performance hasn’t dropped. It’s required by the college. And we’re on a regular semester system .

At my high school, you can have a final transcript before technically graduating - because they accept college credits and you can take more than the required credits in each year.

Because of this, some students enter their senior year with enough credits to graduate. Most of those students do APs and college credits in their senior year.

This is not to say you don’t have a theory on the checkmarks.

@jimjung76 that is a cheeky move, like really cheeky
I like it
how did you figure that one out

So can someone explain what it means if there’s no Final High School Transcript listed on the checklist just High School Transcript…you’re all scaring me…

My D has the X on final high school transcript. And to be clear, her school year has not finished, she has not had any finals yet, not even mid-terms. I hope it’s a good sign, but of course we won’t know until actual results are out. I could see some rationale for it, though…they’d only need final transcripts for those who are accepted, right?

I guess this is the case.

Well, according to the theory (which isn’t necessarily true at all, so don’t stress), UMich wants the final transcripts of the people who they’re going to accept, so there’s a section for Final High School Transcript. If you’re getting deferred or rejected, they don’t need your final transcript now. Again, this is just a theory, and doesn’t have to be true, so don’t worry. We’re just a bunch of crackpot conspiracy theorists trying to pass the time.

We do not have finals until January.
Also do not have Final High School Transcript listed.
Only have 5 rows - Counselor Rec, H.S. Transcript, Teacher Rec, Test Score and Application

Also it will matter what school you are applying for as some schools have different requirements

A college only needs the final transcript after you are enrolled. So that might be a sign. Why else would they ask for it?

Again, this is not to scare anyone, just speculation.

This makes a lot of sense. Everyone sent in a High School Transcript with their initial application, there would be no reason for them to request a FINAL transcript that will not be available until graduation if you are not accepted.

You may be onto something here. I just checked my DD’s Purdue application (decision will be out on 1/15…almost a month to go), there are 6 green checks and no mention of Final Transcript. Apples and Oranges, I know but still …

Where are you seeing the checklist? I can’t see anything on enrollment connect because of the big black message

@saltypretzel use this link:

Logic dictates that if you have the X next to final transcript then they are waiting for it and you are most likely accepted or deferred. Green checks = bad or have not been updated yet. Just my guess. Rejection train will likely roll on for D.

OUCH.
No “X” here.

oh my god it says i need a final transcript. im flipping out. i hope this conspiracy is right.

How are you all able to see that? The portal only gives the message about decisions being delivered by 12/24. How can you still see checkmarks in your portal?

For those with the “X” and those without, where is your last name in the alphabet? Just post your last initial.
