I figured I had a good chance of just being accepted because they offered me the Hail Scholarship but I guess not…
Deferred students would have to send in Fall Term Grades, maybe (apparently Michigan decides on case-to-case if they want 1st semesters). Accepted students need to send in Final Year Grades at end of year, so they can make sure their grades didn’t drop too much (because then they need to be rescinded)

Ugh, after a deferral from Yale, if I get deferred from UMich too, I’ll be so pissed
Nothing for my son either. As OOS we expected a deferral as highly possible, but I would be a little surprised with an outright rejection. (1570 SAT, 8 APs with 5, UW right below 4, Etc…).
can someone oos with the x post their stats??
the x could indicate rejection/acceptance, but the x might go up based on college applied to/ date applied/ place you live… so there is still hope
@hello345435 Why would they ask for someone’s final high school transcripts if they got rejected?
I can’t see why the X would indicate rejection. They reject me and want my final senior grades?
@hello345435 no I’m pretty sure the X indicates that you were accepted based on previous years that michigan asked for final transcripts from admitted students. I didn’t get the X either so I’m hoping you’re right.

I have a friend in admissions and I talked to her because my son is frantic awaiting his decision. She said official decisions should be coming out in a couple of waves between 3 and 4 today… Good luck to everyone!!! Fingers crossed!

I think that the amount of people with the X on this thread is kind of alarming. It could be that they’re going down the line and adding them to all the apps based on order applied, school applied from, or anything. Don’t give up hope too soon guys!

Remember, historically there are few rejections that show up on College Confidential and I think outright rejects in EA are rare, but this is just based on past experience. I believe the vast majority of initial EA decisions are acceptances and deferrals (with either a request for fall grades or not).
