Summary:
Red X for Final Grades = Accepted?
Fall Term Grades = Deferred?
Not Final or Final Term Grades = Rejected?
Just from the last two pages, there seems to be a lot of EA acceptances and much less Deferred and Rejected. With thousands of applicants, I would expect more people getting the Fall Term Grades line.
I love a good conspiracy theory though. It helps pass the time.
Deferred students send in their midyear report, which contains their senior year first semester grades. Accepted students who choose to enroll at Umich do not have to send a midyear report, and instead send a final transcript at the end of the year.
So doesnât appear to be any correlation between x with last name. My theory was they are marching down the line of applicants and changing status but doesnât seem to be the case. So perhaps this does correlate with acceptance.
For what itâs worth, here are DDâs scores and she has a X next to Final Transcript. If others want to post using similar template, we can compare while we are waiting for 3PM (today or tomorrow).
Final High School Transcript Awaiting (with X next to it)? - Yes
In State
SAT - 1490
ACT - 32
GPA - 3.9 W/4.22 UW
Hardly any APs; In IB program; some ECs
Applied to - LAS
Michigan says on their website that they only ask ADMITTED students for the âFinal Year Transcriptâ (which is where the X is). This is so they can make sure youâd didnât get âSenioritisâ, so they donât have to rescind you. Itâs not exactly easy to find, considering they had to guess the URL to get it. But it does seem a tad too easy.
@studiousstudent0 that sort of could make sense⊠because then it makes sense that there would be an X there because final transcript isnât sent in yet, and for a deferred student, thatâs something they would need to send in? Thoughts?
Regardless, I doubt itâll be anything at all⊠this honestly helps the time pass
If I recall correctly, UM sent out different letters to deferred applicants, some asking for senior year fall grades, and some stating they needed no additional information. If so, that might explain why there are so few fall grade requests showing up here.
