@Trolleydolly my daughter’s stats are nearly identical to yours (including NMSF), and she doesn’t have an “x” or line for Final Transcript, either.

A lot of the high stat people are OOS, so they probably got deferred, not rejected. Pretty sure the X means accepted, and no X means deferred/rejected. Very hard to get in EA OOS, even with stellar stats.

Nope. I saw the final transcript with x in school where DS was accepted and in another where results are pending. I bet it means accepted.

@kmmord

I don’t think the X means anything.

I completely agree. There is no way that your DD doesn’t get in with these stats (or at least deferred). Posters here are saying that no final transcript or no fall semester grades means “outright rejection”. That is crazy looking at your DD’s stats.

We SHOULD have a form to fill out. Google, Survey Monkey, Qualtrics, etc. so that we can capture as much info as possible. I am all about data!.

I have the x, does that mean I am in

@Chill2000 I’m pretty sure that no X means deferred/rejected. For CC, that means mostly deferred. A lot of really high stats OOS kids are deferred, and then accepted later on.

High stats are great but do not automatically disprove the X theory. I’ve seen it with my first kid. Out-of-this world stats rejected from state schools because they knew he was probably going somewhere else and that they were a backup plan. I think X is acceptance, and…D has no X.

I think there are way too many Xs esp from OOSs here for it really to mean acceptance. Maybe acceptance plus deferred but even then I am dubious. Soon!

6 lines with x on final transcript most likely means accepted. DS has no x, but the theory makes sense.

My DD does not have an X

She will be writing applications over break she choose to wait and see before thinking of any other school. She has been hooked since first visit and has visited 8 times, seeing shows, football games and visited with her major of interest. Her essays were detailed of her passion for the university and what she could both gain and give to the community.

If there are decisions to be released today, we’re thinking around 3pm EST?

@CalDreamin to be fair, pretty much everyone on CC is going to be a top applicant. We only see the 1500+ SAT/4 GPA kids; not the 1300 SAT/3.5 GPA kids applying to UMich as their absolute dream.

Does anyone in state with good grades have an x? since anyone with top grades out of state can be deferred for yield protection…but all in state kids with top grades seem to have an iso the theory still stands

Don’t think the X thing is true. I don’t have one, but Michigan is a safety school for me with 95% chance according to my college counselor.
