Does anyone know when the admitted students day is?
Is there way to check on the portal or through CommonApp if your mid-year report has been submitted ?
My son was able to check and see it was uploaded to the Michigan Common app. Go under the college then go to the recommenders area & you should see it if your counselor uploaded it. Made me feel better to see that then the date.
Do all deferred/postponed candidates have to submit the mid year report? My sonâs Michigan portal has reminder for only the LOCI. Once itâs submitted the app portal seems to indicate they have everything needed. Do they send separate note about mid year reports?
(Our schoolâs mid year reports are available in second week of Feb)
Not all.
D20 has no request for grades.
@hs2020dad My sonâs portal showed everything complete and nothing further needed. However, in the wording of the postponement it mentioned adding âany available fall gradesâ. His school counselor uploaded his mid-year report to the common app a few days ago.
Daughter was deferred. OOS. GPA 4.1 . ACT 32
Just for clarification from other deferred students â will she hear final decision in March or possibly sooner? Is there anything else she should do? Do you know what percentage of deferred OOS students ultimately get accepted?
When do deferred students get their decision back? I heard it could be February, March or April at the latest? Any chance of getting by Feb 1st as I would like to find out ASAP!
On my ross application portal under resolve it says Verify Continued Interest. Does this mean I was deferred from Ross? I was accepted to LSA during EA.
Same question here. I also got the Verify Continued Interest in my Ross portal. I was also accepted to LSA during EA. Does Ross defer applicants?
Yes, first wave MIGHT be this Friday night.
Worst case scenario, someone could be waitlisted and not hear a final answer until May or even June. Thatâs a rarity though.
I donât think so. They have 4 scheduled decision dates.
Thank you for your reply. Another Question would be if I was already deferred, donât I get accepted or rejected? Or can I get wait listed in RD (If itâs true, it would be terrible to hear wait listed after getting deferred) If I donât hear back in 1st Wave(This Week), when is approx 2nd and 3rd Wave?
Does 4 Decision Scheduled Dates apply to other Schools/Departments as well? Or is it only for Ross?
@yungcollegeapp My guess would be that if you got a âverified continued interestâ for RossâŠit means that they are getting ready to release decsions and want to make sure that you are still interested in attending before they give you the spot (assuming you havenât accepted your admission in LSA at this point)
CRFan7 and yungcollegeapp, did they ask for the same essay as deferred students from the EA round? Or literally just to check that you are still interested?
In any case, I would not jump to any conclusions of this being a signal at this point. They may just be checking on interest as they move forward, it may be a glitch in the system (didnât people say it is a new system?) etc.
On their blog, I remember reading that they donât âorderâ their reviews, so I would not read much into it. But there is no reason for them to âdeferâ you since they have not committed to a decision date that is coming up. If they looked at it and were not sure, they could just wait until their later rounds to decide without any official âdeferralâ statements.
Stressful time, just hang in there.
@richbilly Last year, the waves of LSA and CoE syncâed up with Ross. But I donât remember anyone posting a decision in mid-April (4/17) wave. I donât believe there was a wave in mid-April.
If you base it on prior history, the February (1/31) and March waves will consist of MOSTLY acceptances. Again, assuming the waves sync this year, the 3/27 wave will have acceptances, rejections and waitlisted. The emphasis, in the possibly last wave on or about 3/27, will be rejections and waitlisted, IIRC.
The caveat here is yield. If yield is up or down, then that will obviously change the dynamics of the waves.
Last year, UMich offered waitlist positions to 14,783 applicants and 6,000 accepted their positions on the waitlist. UMich took 415 applicants off the waitlist.
Yes, they shouldnât offer the waitlist to almost 15,000 applicants.
@Nonamefits Yes they ask for the same essay as those deferred in the EA. I could fill up a form with the essay due March 1. Quite weird they do this before decisions are out as I know Mich EA deferred applicants got their form after their decisions. Hope itâs only a glitch in the system!
Isnât the RD continued interest request slightly different in that it includes the statement âIf there is additional information you would like to provide to us, please submit this form by March 1stâ whereas EA deferred applicants werenât asked to provide âadditional informationâ.?
