The bottom of the acceptance letter on the portal was recently updated to say this: P.S. The health and safety of the University community are our top priorities. The Institute for Global Studies (IGS) works closely with our campus and international partners to monitor the evolution of the novel (new) coronavirus, known as COVID-19, and follows official country-specific guidance given by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Drum-Cussac, our travel risk service. We will communicate directly with admitted World Scholars and family members, and will continue to post updates at www.udel.edu/coronavirus
Anyone know if World Scholars will dorm together for first semester?
DOes anyone know if the deposit is $500 for commitment to UDEL and then an additional $500 for the World Scholar Program? This seems like a lot! Thanks

It seems to be…
I’m not sure! If they don’t dorm with someone from world scholars I’m guessing their side of the room would just be empty? It’d probably be best to room with someone in world scholars but I’m not sure if you’d be paired with one if going random. I’m considering just going random so I’m not sure if I’ll end up with someone in world scholars or not.
It is an addition 500$ fee. It does seem like a lot, but considering it’s a pretty big commitment I can see why it’s like that. It at least gets a small head start on paying some money into the program for the student.
Yes it’s an additional $500 for WS - plus it’s not refundable. I found out they will NOT dorm together for freshman year, which is unfortunate.
Oh they won’t? That’s unfortunate. It’s be nice if you didn’t already have a roommate to be randomly paired with someone in world scholars so you could at least get to know some people in the program before hand and already be rooming with someone you could while abroad.
