My S just passed Eastman prescreen and a friends S passed Peabody’s. They got emails at the same time.
passed Frost
When do Juilliard / Curtis send prescreen decisions?
Juilliard prescreen results have gone out for some studios already.
Curtis tends to send audition invites approximately a month before the audition date located on their website.
You can always email the school to ask them directly.
Thank you. Did Juilliard send decisions for violin?
At least on this thread, I only see one audition invite for Juilliard…string bass.
Still waiting over here for both Curtis and Juilliard (for my daughter, MM voice), as well as SUNY. SUNY is supposedly 2/5 so I’m really hoping she finds out soon so we can arrange travel!
Good luck!! We did Curtis even though we know chances are … so we are not really waiting:-) With Juilliard is more about planing travelling which is extremly expensive now.
Same to you! Waiting is the hardest part.
Waiting on Blair and Peabody still here; anyone else?
When my D received her response from Juilliard an email said the admissions committee was still reviewing prescreens and would send the rest of the responses out the week of January 8. She also applied to Curtis and are waiting for that response too.
Still waiting. No news ![]()
Violin seems brutal in general - my D passed 3 and did not 2. I am a professional horn player teacher. Horn seems easier for auditions at least ![]()
We heard from Peabody Wednesday (classical voice, soprano).
Vanderbilt’s application just closed Monday, and we were to the wire on that one, so with a later deadline than other schools they may have received a tidal wave of applications at the last minute.
My son is waiting on Curtis, Juilliard, and Yale still.
My daughter is doing regional audition for JH Peabody (Voice in LA) and they are requesting we bring our own accompanist. Is anyone else doing the same? Trying to figure out what is the best way to find an accompanist that can accompany my daughter. Her regular one is not able to. I am surprised they are not providing one.
Are you someone who attends church? If so you could reach out to your denomination in the area and ask if anyone could help. You could also call around to agencies but I’m sure you’ve thought of that.
try local preperatory programs. They will have accompanists who are used to working with HS students and may be less expensive.
looks like colburn has a bunch of programs. the college program may also have a rent a musician program

Ah yes thanks - DD applied early so seems like its been a while!
Does her regular accompanist have someone she can recommend?
Also, if in LA area try LA High School of the Arts. Or OCHSA if further south in Orange County.
Edited to Add: try the Collaborative Piano Department at USC. There is a link to “Hire a Student”.
