Has anyone else not recieved an IU decision yet? For BM

My d’s friend is still waiting! No decision yet. The friend emailed.

Let me know if they reply! I called the other day, and they said that all decisions would be made by April 1…

We were surprised when the professor said we should have received academic merit a while ago. I called regular UC Admissions, they were super helpful. Said the email was some how ā€œskippedā€ and she had it resent. It ended up in our spam folder so double check!

I was not clear - the friend hasn’t heard anything yet so emailed this evening to find out something.

Agreed but still good to have an idea for comparison!

No, it is a massive screwup nationwide.
Fortunately, most of our schools were CSS, so we got preliminary financial info despite the FAFSA fiasco.
Except IU, which finally, came this morning.
They were generous, leading to a lower cost than his other two schools but not enough to bump U Mich out of top spot.

He has the decision but not sure why the financial decision is taking so long. He has gotten very nice offers from other schools but it is still frustrating to not know at 8pm on April 1st. He emailed somebody, not a professor or anything but didn’t hear back.

What is your son’s major/instrument? My son’s first choice is UMich. He is planning to do Euphonium Performance.

Update! MM in Flute

UNCG - Accepted 2/2
U of SC - Waitlisted 2/20
Eastman - Rejected 3/14
Carnegie Mellon - Rejected 3/14
U of Illinois - Waitlisted 3/18
U of Maryland - Waitlisted 3/27
UW - still no decision

Lucky for me, UNCG was in my top 3 (with ESM and CMU), so I’m pretty happy! No financials yet. Anxiously awaiting.

We are so thankful right now. Son was just awarded a full tuition scholarship to Juilliard, MM Violin Performance. I think we’re still speechless. Grateful, but speechless.

Awesome! How did you learn about the CCM scholarship?

I know I’ve seen good info on this in this thread, but I’m having a hard time finding the posts … What’s the best way to go back to a school for more merit? Should my son reach out to the professor, admissions, or financial aid? Should he specifically name other schools and the amount of merit offered as a percent of the cost of attendance or be more general? He has acceptances from several schools that have comparable COAs but the merit offer from his first choice is a bit lower than offers from the others. Appreciate guidance from anyone who has been down this road.

There was info on this and the acceptance thread. For us personally, my son had an initial conversation with the professor from one school letting him know the offers available at other schools. That professor is reaching out to their admissions department and my son emailed them as well asking for more merit. In another school, the more appropriate department was the financial aid office. He set up an appointment with them just this morning and explained the other offers, that their high cost of living might factor into his decision, and asked about alternative finance options. He has not contacted the professor at this school.
