My 2 VP daughters used the same songs in their prescreens and live auditions. Frankly they didn’t have time to whip up an entirely new repertoire that time of senior year. They were deep into rehearsals for their last high school musicals, one was performing 2 to 3 times a week with her high school dance team and also serving as a class officer. Plus school itself. Fitting in all those high school “lasts” is important too:).

Thanks, figured it out… an admissions team member responded to S’s email saying that since he’s jazz, they put combos together and then assign dates and times, in an email to follow. It wasn’t super clear, but he’s relieved that the ball is now rolling at Oberlin.

Does anyone have information about the environment at Mannes at the New School? What it’s like to be a student there, especially undergrand? Nothing is popping when I search.
When will we hear about dates for Rice audition? Travel (airlines) is complicated from my little place of nowhere.
Would like to know as well! Filled out the audition request form. I am hoping we find out soon!

Does anyone know if they release results on the weekend? Or is it just going to be done in January at this point? My S has only gotten 1/7 results back (does that just mean he didn’t get in?)

Three passes yesterday for mm voice! I posted earlier about Peabody and NEC, and then I heard from Bard around 9 last night!
4/4 so far, now I’m just waiting on the big 3: Curtis, Juilliard, and Yale.

If he doesn’t pass prescreening, they will let you know for sure! (I read in this forum once that at least one school has released on the weekend in the past, but typically schools don’t send out emails on the weekends.)
If you go on Instagram search for tag #mannesschoolofmusic, you’ll see some posts and accounts. My son has friends in many music schools but not this one.

My son heard back from Rice (viola) on 12/18. He immediately was able to choose an audition date. I was annoyed because the dates that they originally posted totally changed. I had already made a calendar grid to see how to work out all auditions (assuming he was invited) and even held changeable tickets so that I could get good prices and the change messed up the entire grid, LOL. Since then, I have heard of 3 other schools changing the dates that were originally posted.

No, I am pretty sure they send invites and declines and the same time. I’m not sure if they’ll come in over the weekend and following week, but I’m not sure they couldn’t. oh, and check the portals just in case. I have heard two instances recently of the “portal updating” even though an email had not been sent out yet. Good luck!
Does anybody know of anybody that passed the Colburn prescreening?
Mine also heard on the 18th. He filled out a form stating his first, second, and third preference. We haven’t gotten any confirmation though. Have they confirmed to you that your first choice date is available?
I know 2 people, same instrument though and both undergrad
We also haven’t gotten confirmation of a Rice date, even though we said on the form that only one of the 2 dates works due to a conflict with another audition. I’m just going to assume we got the date we requested as I have to make travel arrangements.

I am hoping somebody with experience from last year is reading this. We need three airline tickets and multiple city travel due to close dates of the audition. I can’t risk booking anything without a confirmation.

Most schools will give you information on the speecific styles they would like to hear during the audition. If they match the pre-screen choices, feel free to use those.
yikes! I didn’t do it, so when my son asked what audition to sign up for, I assumed that it was “confirmed”. I immediately bought tickets, but the good news is that they are cancellable. But the bad news is that each audition relies on knowing when the other ones are, SOOOOOOO this is going to get messy LOL
