Prescreen decision date. My S is a vocalist.
I know they’ve started releasing them. My son is jazz guitar and we found out last week.
lol which means if they want to avoid all of those questions they would release it on the 23rd instead lol
Has anyone gone back to previous threads to see when prescreen results have traditionally been released? I’m pretty sure I made a spreadsheet of this somewhere. I’ll try to dig it up and share, but for now here is the link to the thread a couple of years ago when my daughter was going through this process. You can search within the thread to see when results started trickling in. I seem to remember that most of them try to let you know before the holidays for what it’s worth!

I did and I know there was just one school that was after the holidays, I don’t remember which. I think now the question is when “before the holiday break” will be, not if it’s before the break.

I think Juilliard is probably the school that trickles in after the holidays. It can be early but I guess they release by department so some don’t trickle in until early January. Which is torture!

! I just wanted to thank you all for this year’s (and past years’) thread(s) on music admissions. My daughter is a flute player from Texas who is applying mostly to Midwestern D1 schools (she loves marching band as much as she does concert).
She is waiting on IUs prescreen results! 
We are trying to negotiate TMEA’s All State process, audition dates and DCI callbacks all at the same time 
.

I have had 3 kids study at IU Jacobs. Two had to prescreen–voice and jazz guitar. Both heard back mid December–so right about now. Fingers crossed for you and your daughter:).

Son woke up today to an offer from the Royal Academy of Music in London! Still waiting to hear his result from Royal College of Music but we are counting the Thanksgiving trip as a success as he now is holding offers from Guildhall and RAM. At this point we are considering cutting back the number of US school auditions he takes (weighing them against if he would go to each school vs London). He sent 7 prescreens in the US (not knowing how all this would go) and we are hoping he makes it through them; if he does, we have mentally cut his US audition list down to 4 US schools that he would consider over London and therefore might respectfully withdraw from the other 3 if invited and save ourselves some February long winter drives. (And unrelated to this music forum but I’m a proud mom, his twin sister got into her top art design school choice last night.)

Maybe….Last year D (Vocal Performance) heard from USC on 12/18 and Oberlin on 12/20.
