I will be a Junior this year in high school. I will be taking 4 AP classes, however I will only be in Honors Pre-Calculus. I am not planning on majoring in anything related to math or science, but I have considered taking a pre-calculus course online this summer so that I may take AP Calculus AB this year. Does being in Honors Pre-Calculus versus AP Calculus my junior year make a difference to college admissions? I would like to attend an Ivy League. My worry is that 5 AP classes may be too stressful.

If you want ivy, I think it’s a good idea to do the class over the summer. Even if you end up not wanting to take AB Calc, you’ll be very prepared for Honors and it should let you concentrate on your other APs. Still, I would recommend talking AB unless you make it very clear that you will not be taking Calc in college.
