Class Rank Query?

<p>hey everybody… i keep reading on most uni’s site abotu class rank and being in the top 10-15% in the class… i would like to know how that works…
For example i am currently 3rd out of 30 students in my clas… what % would that put me in… and last year i was 2nd out of 30… so whr would that put me…</p>

<p>lol rank is just 3/30 in your case, 10%</p>

<p>however, if your school is very competitive a rank of 5-6 wouldnt kill you at all, colleges take that into account when they look at your school. for instance, they wouldnt reject someone who is 1st out of 9, saying they are not in the top 10%, that would be ridiculous.</p>
