I have a question about how USNA determines class rank. Is it just all academic and military conduct profile or are fitness scores(swimming, and the 1.5 mile run, etc) factored in also? I would seriously flunk out if fitness scores are factored in but oh well. Just a question.

I believe everything contributes to class rank- or what they call the “Order of Merit” …consisting of GPA, PAE, professional (military) grade, peer ranking, superior ranking, etc…and I would not be surprised if there were even more “factors” that get “factored in.”

If you haven’t started working on physical fitness, like swimming and running, it might be a good idea to start…flunking a PAE can, at best, lead to “tours,” extra workouts, or forfiture of breaks in order to remediate substandard areas, or at worst, a seperation from failure to meet PAE standards.

If you got this far, no doubt you can master the PAE as well-- just start working on it now! Best of luck!
