Class ring bait and switch?

D got her class ring yesterday. It was purchased from the industry leader. We not only looked at their glossy brochure and the online design-a-ring site, but we also attended the ring night where they had models on display. D did not want a huge ring, but she wanted one large enough so that the writing and emblems would be clear and visible. So, we picked out the model and she tried on a sample of the style she had selected at the sales night. But, when it came in, it was significantly smaller than the model. We thought at first that perhaps we had been careless or we were remembering it wrong, but then another parent called to ask if I thought the rings were smaller than what we had seen. I know the price of gold went up, so I’m wondering if they downsized without informing us?

Did this happen to anyone else?

Didn’t happen to us since DS’s school has only 1 design to choose from – the only selection is what the ring is made from. BUT, in your shoes I would certainly be complaining. And, I’d probably be gathering support from others with the same complaint.

[Class rings’ value sentimental, not monetary](http://www.cbc.ca/canada/manitoba/story/2007/04/11/class-ring-value.html#skip300x250)

they are having problems north of us too.

D is getting her class ring next month… from the “industry leader.” I’ll have to see if she gets what she’s expecting.

I think what your D got should match the style she tried on at the sales night, unless you checked off the wrong box on the sales form. If not, I’d definitely start asking questions!

what kind of problems emeraldkity?
