I don’t think that’s weird! When we get to be a certain age we simply buy what we want, when we want it so must ask for things we need as holiday gifts. My family appreciates the ease of being told what they can get you as a gift.

Totally agree on the Miele with the silverware rack. I even arrange the silverware on the rack, i.e., all of the same type of utensils together. Makes it easy to unload. I don’t let guests clean up either. I do a much better job.

The areas of our house that are for public use (living room, dining room, kitchen and hall bathroom) are always tidy and reasonably clean. The others - family room, bedrooms and bathroom…not so much. My H and D24 are typical ADHD slobs…piles of things on surfaces, unfinished projects, clean laundry never folded and put away, drawers and cabinet doors opened and never closed…I have learned to live with it, provided certain areas (public) kept free of their chaos.
