What to people really do to (ceramic) clean tile showers, and what products do you recommend? I love my new shower, and I want to keep it nice. I’ve read you need to Squeegee floor, door and tile every day, wipe down the floor, use vinegar and water solution to keep it clean, use a magic eraser once a week(?) etc. I have a “pebble” floor, and it’s particularly hard to figure out. I want it to stay nice, but I don’t want to spend more time cleaning it than enjoying it.
Check out something called Wet & Forget Shower. I have fiberglass and glass, but if it works as well on ceramic you’re in luck. Basically, once a week after the last shower, you spray it on, then the next morning you rinse it off. If you have existing soap scum it might take a few weeks to see the results. But you really do see results! It seems expensive but lasts a long time.
I have a ceramic tile shower and cast iron tub. I don’t do anything special. After my shower I use my hand shower to rinse any shampoo or soap suds off the tile walls, the tub and the shower curtain liner. I do not squeegee the tiles. And then every other week our cleaning service cleans the tub and tile with a Scrubbing Bubbles or equivalent type cleaner and have not had any issues. This is a newly redone bathroom (work finished at beginning of Dec 2019) and after the construction was done I did have to use a Magic Eraser and Bon Ami to clean the “non-stick” tub floor as it was filthy.
Our master bath (which is so small only my husband uses it) does have glass wall tile in the shower and glass shower doors. He squeegees all 4 walls of the shower after every shower. If the wall tiles were ceramic I think he’d only have to squeegee the 2 glass walls for the shower doors.
We spray the whole shower and door down with Method Daily Shower after each use. Twice/month or so, I use soft scrub if there is any grout that looks like it’s discoloring.
Sorry… this has been sitting without me sending it by accident
Thanks. We have Method Daily and the Method cleaner. I think I will start using the daily on the tile every day, and continue to squeegee the glass door. Will continue to do a thorough cleaning each weekend. We have a flat pebble bottom, and I’m worried about that growing something too. I think I’m just a little over cautious after spending all that money.
