Is it August yet?
With the official schedule posting last night I know we are even more excited for fall to be here. Looks like a great schedule and we are really optimistic going into the season.
In all honestly it was Clemson Football that won my D24 over back when she was very little. She cheered her entire life. It is very hard on their bodies and is not something that she is persuing in college she is so very excited to just get to go to football games and be a spectator!
All of this said, wanted to start a thread where we could talk about not just general football but also I have many questions about how tickets work for the students, for parents, parents weekend, IPTAY, season passes?
I read something last night encouraging the students to join IPTAY collegiate I think it was called. $40 maybe? But if you go ahead and pay for all 4 years its $100 or something? Thoughts on this?
Any advice or any tips on what to expect. My oldest went to a smaller college that did not have football so this is our first rodeo and we have no idea what to expect.
For example someone said that you have to move your car on game days and if you live in certain dorms. Any of that information will be helpful to us as we have not picked a dorm yet so it would be nice to know all of the things. TIA!
I don’t know how it works for students, but just here to say that it is unlike any other experience! I have been going for the last 50 years to games as my dad was an alum and had season tickets.
I also went to a large state school, but it is nothing like at Clemson!
Gamedays are the BEST!!!
We have been to a handful over the years and the atmosphere was always great. That being said it has been many years since we have been back and getting to experience it knowing its the school your child attends just seems amazing. I know the pride I have for our local highschool and I imagine the pride I will have for Clemson will be just as much!
Here is the link to the 2023/2024 season; we haven’t received the 2024/2025 info, but I imagine they’ll keep the policy similar to this year’s. The football tickets work on a lottery system with collegiate iptay members receiving an extra point for each year of membership, so there is a boost in chances if they join iptay. They also get an additional point for each year completed, so a senior will have a better shot than a freshman. We puchased the 4 year iptay membership up front; D20 “won” full season tickets the last 3 years. Those tickets are a guaranteed spot in the student section, but the seats aren’t designated. There’s a charge for the tickets; I think it’s about $200-300, but I’d have to go back through our bills. They could also “win” single game tickets; DD “won” 3 games her freshman year, although she was technically considered a sophomore. [Edited to delete incorrect amount] If they don’t win any of the lotteries, they can also wait in line the morning of gameday for a free ticket on the hill. There are a limited number of those tickets, so there is a bigger demand for big name matchups (ex. Notre Dame). The kids are more likely to get in line early for those tickets.
As far as parking, students on the west side of campus must move their cars to the Kite Hill overflow lot for gameday. I think they need to move them by midnight on Friday and be moved back to west side by 6pm Sunday. Clemson parking services is no joke; they will tow them. Yes, DD learned the hard way
Oh my goodness this is great information! Thank you so much!
So they would be in a lottery for the tickets and if they “win” the lottery then basically you win the opportunity to buy tickets? So the season tickets cost $200- $300? How much did the single game tickets cost? And is it a pair of tickets or one ticket? I mean surely most dont want to go to a game by themselves?

Yes
So the season tickets cost $200- $300?
Just searched my charges; last year was $325
Lower Deck Tickets = $325 ($46/game)
Upper Deck Tickets = $180 ($26/game)
How much did the single game tickets cost?
Sorry I forgot to edit the single game fee info. They’re free, but they’re part of the lottery.
And is it a pair of tickets or one ticket?
Single

No, they don’t, but they find someone else with a ticket in the same location (UL, LL, Hill). They started the wrist band policy this year because students were sneaking into the paid sections.
WOW! Ok this is great information. Thank you for letting me know all of this.
So we do need to sign up for the IPTAY Collegiate? Am I understanding that you have to be an IPTAY member before you can even buy tickets at all?
It’s one ticket, don’t worry, they will meet friends. We paid the booster club, the first two years my daughter just got free hill tickets to most games, junior year she was allowed to purchase season tickets in the lower deck (fun fact, you can’t go from upper and lower decks from the inside). This year they brought back same day tickets requiring line ups, and if you get hill tickets you need to pick up wristbands ahead of time instead of getting them on the phone (that started with COVID but students were sharing screenshots with others and many who were entitled to be there weren’t allowed in because it was full). Honestly, anyone who wants a ticket can get one, might have to pay, I know my daughter sold one student ticket for $100, and purchased a couple for ND for siblings. My daughter was in douthit freshman year, cars there can stay.
No, it just gives them an extra point per year for the lottery if they join. As @Mjkacmom mentioned, the kids usually figure out a way to get tickets if they don’t win the lottery. They have pages where they sell their tickets, or they can try to get them on game day.
