None of the 3 hacks working for us.
@2019stu same here! Waiting for the mail to really feel comfortable. I posted the Tiger day hack yesterday because a bunch of my D’s friends were doing it at school and she said, you should post this on that thing you look at! They are all stressing just like us! Spoke to her after school and she said mixed results, some a yes, like her, and some no. A few of the no’s were extremely bright and talented children. I’m hopeful for them that this hack will continue to update over several days like the first one. Good luck to all and hurry up USPS!
@amxn15 what are your stats? in state or OOS? Clemson offers a few merit based scholarships depending on stats and also offers in state scholarships, check out this link! https://www.clemson.edu/financial-aid/types/scholarships/
Does anyone know how to find out the CUID? The email with the application confirmation was accidentally deleted.
Also wondering if rejection letters are sent out at the same time as the acceptance letters. Good Luck everyone - sounds like a lot of letters could arrive today.
@Chicknlady Yes, rejection letters and waitlist letters are mailed out together with the admission packets. My daughter was devastated to receive a waitlist letter one year ago when we expected, with her stats, that she would be receiving the large “You are Tigertown Bound” packet. We sorta figured that the waitlist letter was just a gentler form of “No” but learned that there is definitely a difference.
@imstacey Thanks for the info. Sorry to hear that for your daughter. I hope she found happiness at another school. Clemson is in my seniors top 3 so he will be disappointed if he doesn’t get in but I think he will be ok. Next year will be a different story, Clemson is my junior’s only choice.
@Chicknlady I guess I wasn’t clear. My daughter is a Tiger! We immediately accepted the wait list option as soon as the letter arrived (you need to go online to do this, as directed). She also maintained contact with our state’s admissions officer at Clemson. Then, while taking a 2nd look at other schools she had to decide between (VA Tech, NC State, and USC), we went back to Clemson and she ended up breaking down in tears to an admissions officer — and to the GC (her major) adviser. This woman said that she would offer her admission if she could but she does not get to make those decisions. It was above her pay grade. lol Clemson said that there would be no way they would take anyone, if they did at all, off the wait list prior to May 1st. Some years the they had taken many off the wait list but the year before us, they had only accepted 3 students from the wait list and those were offered only January admission. We were shocked when all of a sudden the big Tiger admission packet showed up in our mailbox on one of the last days of April! My daughter was sitting alone in Starbucks, killing time before an appt, and I texted her a photo of the big packet. She said she just broke down bawling in the middle Starbucks.
Anyone with the USPS delivery notification see anything today? Last year many received their mail notification 2 days after Clemson announced they sent them (last year 2/9 and many received on 2/12). Only the small white envelope will show up (larger mail does not). Nothing in our notification today in CT…
Nothing for us in MD.
Nothing in NC yet
IL. Nothing yet.
I believe the letters were just brought to the post office and processed to go out Friday (it was late Thursday when they posted that they were going out). Those closest in proximity tend to get them first, then those out of state several days later. It will be mid to late next week before those up the east coast or out west/midwest get them.
Nothing here in IL, however no oversized items ever show up in our notification.
Is there any hack to accept a spot on the wait list?
@Baxter126 I think you are correct after looking at the instagram feed - and last year was a Friday as well. Looks like probably starting on Monday… Sorry for jumping the gun… Will check back on Monday!
@imstacey what were your daughters stats if u don’t mind me asking? And how did she keep in contact with the admissions office & her major advisor? Do u think that had any help in her acceptance? My hacks haven’t changed and I’m really hoping to be a tiger!!
My unweighted GPA was a 3.33 and my SAT score was a 1300. I had many EC’s but I’m honestly shocked to hear that I was accepted. I don’t think I qualify for any scholarships from the University itself but does anyone have any advice on how to get aid/external scholarships? I really just need to bring it down like $10k
@Crocco25 we used the future tiger day and went ahead and registered for one of the dates. Received email confirmation that said
“Congratulations on your acceptance to Clemson University and thank you for registering for a Future Tiger Day. We look forward to meeting you and your family on____”
@2019stu see above
We used the future tiger day link as well last night and registered for a march date…immediately received the same email saying congrats and thank you for registering. No mail yet in Maryland.
Tried all the hacks…no luck. Pretty disappointed - DS had 34 ACT, 3.88 unweighted GPA, 4.98 weighted GPA, in state. Multiple EC’s including sports, student government, community service, about 20 college courses dual credit and honors classes.
