Clemson Admissions - Class of 2023 DISCUSSION

@mommy2001 - Did you check the CU# you are putting into the hacks? It comes directly from your sons application. EC’s don’t really count much, but that ACT score coupled with the GPA should make him a really strong candidate if his class rank is also high. If you get a rejection notice, I would definitely appeal if Clemson is his first choice.

No luck here either. 4.7 W GPA, 1480 SAT, NHS, LHS, tons of EC, captain of varsity team.
Only thing I can come up with is that she applied later
Congratulations to everyone who got in!!

@jce528 - If your daughter applied after December 1st, she is not guaranteed to hear by 2/15. The below is right from Clemson’s undergraduate FAQ’s -
Clemson doesn’t have an early decision policy, but students who apply before Dec. 1 will be notified of their admission decision the week of Feb. 15. Any students who apply after Dec. 1 may receive notification by Feb. 15 or soon after.

Congrats to all who were accepted!
Just FYI, I originally was putting the wrong CID in for my D. I pulled the number off of her online application, but that wasn’t right - it has to be the CID that was sent via email after the application was submitted. Be sure you’re using the right number!!
My daughters hack changed Tuesday, bridge hack says “your application isn’t eligible for bridge,” and the Tiger Day hack worked too welcoming her by name with her selected major.
OOS, 3.8GPA, 28 ACT, multiple honors classes, 6APs, very competitive/highly ranked HS, lots of ECs, campus visit, Biology major, applied 10/13.
Best wishes to all 2019 grads at whatever schools are lucky enough to get you! ?

@mommy2001. Hang in there. Those are amazing stats and resume, and your DS may still get good news. Do you mind if I ask his major? The hack didn’t work for my DS either, but he had an interview just last week at Brooks (the Performing Arts School) for Audio Technology. I’m not sure if those decisions come out at the same time. Nothing in today’s mail.

Everyone who thinks their hack isn’t working, make sure you use the CU ID from your application confirmation in your email. Don’t use the number on your application at the top. I did that at first and thought I got rejected but I actually got in.

Also, there is a post several pages back in this thread from someone who’s child did not hear by Feb. 15th last year. They waited a week after the 15th I think to call. Eventually they called and were told that something must have happened during the processing stage because the application was essentially lost in the shuffle. However, it was too late and the child ended up going somewhere else.
Just saying it doesn’t hurt to call if you find out others are getting their letters and you are not.

When did you apply

Just wanted to make sure that everyone knows the number on your application is not your CUID. That is the application identifier. You need to find the email when you applied. We just used the correct number and found out my DD was accepted into the bridge program! I’m so excited for her!

@Jce528 If that question is to me then the poster who originally told that story had applied by the priority deadline December 1.
(if you apply after Dec. 1 then the 15th is not a deadline for hearing)

@lil4456 My daughter scored 30 ACT and had an UW 3.83 GPA. We learned about “Demonstrated Interest” from the director of her college tutoring center and how important it is if you’ve been waitlisted. So, as soon as the little white envelope came, my daughter contacted the tutoring center director and she called over to Clemson Admissions and got the name and email of the Admissions Rep(Mason Hill) who covers CT (our home state). She left him a message about our daughter and why she should be a Tiger and how she coincidentally met with him when we spoke with Admissions when we were there that Fall. Same for her HS GC. My daughter also sent Mason an email, expressing her serious level of interest in attending Clemson. She did this 2 or 3 more times. When we had toured the campus in the fall, my daughter had scheduled a tour with the Chair of her major (Graphic Communications) and he also had her meet with that major’s adviser, who is awesome. So, my dd also reached out to the adviser. When we toured her top 3 choices that April of senior year, we also went to Clemson and stopped in at the Admissions office. Mason was out of the office but we happened to meet with his office mate. She was lovely and took down my daughter’s info to pass along to Mason. My daughter burst into tears so I had to take over explaining the depth of my daughter’s experience in Graphic Design, blah blah blah. Then, she went over to the GC dept and burst into tears again. lol The adviser she had met with before was stunned that she was wait listed but said they have nothing to do with admissions. We were told that even if they offered admission to students on the wait list, there was no way it would be before May 1st. Remember, Clemson accepts applications all the way up to May 1st!! So, we were shocked and incredibly grateful that a big orange envelope arrived just prior to May 1st. Exactly 45 minutes before she was finally going to commit to USC. Yes, I do think “continued demonstrated interest” is very important. I do think that this helped move my daughter off the wait list. Clemson wants students who REALLY want to be there. They like those “Admitted” and “Enrolled” stats to be as close as possible on their printed statistics. Good Luck!! p.s. Graphic Communications major is one that is usually a closed major (along with Sports Communications and Nursing) so that didn’t help, either.

@Tinster12 How do you know it was the bridge program?

Can someone explain these “hacks” to me? My son first got the screen that says username set up and to put in his activation code. He went into tiger days and got the welcome to tiger town with his name and that he got into the college of engineering. Do these things really mean he was accepted??

@Tuxrd2 Thank you. She applied only 3 weeks ago. Wasn’t initially a top choice. In reading the stats, I think she would get in, but the late application may hurt her in the end. Im curious to see how it plays out. I’d like her to have the option, it’s a great school.

@hokiegirl14 It’s not so much a “hack” as it is a backdoor method to see if the CUID # assigned at the application confirmation stage registers in Clemson’s system as an accepted student. I’m a little perplexed why Clemson doesn’t lock this down. However, I would think if your son’s CUID works for the future Tiger Days page and displays his name/major, that seems pretty certain he’s in.

We’re going old school and waiting for snail mail.

signed up for future tiger days in March, it said congratulations to my name, and then said i was
accepted for political science. no mail yet, but seeing as space is limited, i wanted to sign up ASAP!

I was able to sign up for the future tiger day in March. It says that I was accepted as an undeclared major (which is what I wanted). My mail is always a day late so I am hoping to get my letter by Thursday!

i’ve never visited clemson before, anyone want to tell me about the campus and the “vibe”? what are the students like? what’s the greek life situation like? visiting in March, but want to know more about Clemson before then

@mea2023 you may want to search the boards to read other threads and then post your own questions after that. You might get more responses that way since this thread is for discussing admissions this year. All the best as you check out Tigertown!

Ok so I got in and while I’m really excited it is not for my first choice major. Could I try to transfer in my sophomore year or am I stuck
