Clemson Admissions - Class of 2023 DISCUSSION

@rightyb and @xn3mom I believe those are the only accepted student engineering days, but it does vary by major. We were unable to get a spot in either session, so we just picked a date in March to go tour the engineering school again (we went to spring blitz last year before he applied). He may even get more out of it because it is less people that way. Engineering is by far the most common major for entering freshman. If you visit the engineering website you will see a link to set up a tour. I believe they do them every Friday.

@xn3mom All engineering days were full and I tried to register the day he was accepted. Was very disappointed that with the number of engineering applicants and acceptance, they wouldn’t allow for extra days or space. When I called the visitors center, they assured me that pretty much any engineering info session or tour would be the same as what they present then. But after leaving another school’s admitted students day this weekend, I am disappointed that we are missing that whole energy of a day devoted to accepted students. My son and husband will be attending a Monday engineering info session and doing a self guided tour as we have already taken an official tour of campus.

Just a huge disappointment that they don’t allow space for everyone.

@mommamo1 I agree 100%. S was also accepted to UF. Luckily I was able to get into their engineering day, but I noticed when I registered that the general acceptance student days were all filled up. Colleges should have enough days to accommodate all accepted students. If I were you, I’d try to contact someone in the engineering department. Update: I just sent you a message with a contact.

Future tiger day was so much fun! Highly recommend going if you’re considering it. I’ve officially committed to Clemson, GO TIGERS!!

Anyone else who was waitlisted now getting an enter your activation code screen instead of unable to determine after putting in your CUID in the hack?

I just applied… do they release notifications on a rolling basis?

@Ponogirl808 yes they do. We applied about a month ago and we are still waiting to hear back. I have no idea if that’s a good thing or a bad thing!

same here

@ConfidentialUser71 That is really weird, you might’ve gotten in then

@aj22110508 I was accepted to the TTSB program at Clemson. It is basically where you spend $11,000 extra (out of state) and you attend Clemson for the entire summer taking two classes that count towards graduation. If I was accepted for strictly the fall, I think I would have a much better case towards my parents to go there.

@CofidentialUser71 - If you don’t have an acceptance letter with the code, then you’re not off the waitlist - obviously just my guess. The hack said the same thing for my son just before we received the notice of waitlist.

Are you logging into the waitlist link to see if you are there?

Yes, I logged into the waitlist link after I was waitlisted Feb. 15th and confirmed my interest to remain on the waitlist. However, I just tried the normal hack that used to say unable to determine acceptance status and now it is asking me to enter my activation code. Wondering if this means I was accepted off the waitlist.

Mine has shown that since I first had application accepted so I think it’s just a way to get people in system even though it says acceptance code.

Also I don’t think they would offer up waitlist spots until after application deadline passes right? That’s May 1 I believe?

. I was reading the old threads today and came across your read and chuckled when I read your son “felt” PSU. My daughter also loved Clemson, was wait listed, and is down to USC and PSU too. She applied to 16 schools and the only one she “FELT” was Clemson which was the lone waitlist… go figure… Anyway we are visiting USC for the 2nd time on Accepted Student Day 3/22 and its either love it or hate it, if the latter, she will commit to PSU… of course if she gets the Clemson letter in mid May , well then we will be Tiger Bound because she “felt” Clemson from the get go!

My daughter was accepted to the bridge program and we appealed. Now the hack is asking for activation code, whereas prior the response was unable to determine status. Anyone have past experience with appeals?

I’m not sure about the hack and if that means anything, nor would I put any weight on that in case it’s an error. Clemson was very clear last year that appeals needed to have new and/or compelling information to add to possibly get a change. It’s worth appealing for sure, but last year saw fewer appeals won than in previous years.

Has everyone heard from Clemson? One of My S19s heard many weeks ago - the second has heard nothing.

We have heard nothing. Hack doesn’t mean anything unfortunately I think all applicants flipped to that automatically.
