Clemson Class of 2028 Official Thread

My daughter is trying to activate her Clemson email. She keeps getting a message telling her that there is an error. Does she need to “accept” her admission offer before she will be permitted to activate her email?

Make sure she activates duo, it didn’t work until I used the mobile duo app

Waitlisted, and actually content with that!

My OOS daughter transitioned from one private school to an IB school in jr year of HS so it was a struggle. Very different. It took her some time to acclimate to the terminology and the teaching method, which is very different than anything we’re used to.

She did not apply early action/early decision anywhere for other reasons, so she expected to be denied.

D24 is interested in CUBS LLC… she’s also wondering about that aspect of it…
I’ve seen a few very positive endorsements of the LLCs generally.

I don’t think there are any dorms that are considered more academic than others, my daughter’s social life was anything but boring her freshman year in CUBS. It’s Clemson!

My daughter had a very similar experience. OOS. Waitlisted at Clemson, PSA offer from TAMU. Got into all her safeties and targets so far. Still waiting to hear back from 8 more schools (a mix from safeties to reaches). It will all work out in the end. I watched this one admission reaction video of this smart, witty girl who got rejected or waitlisted from all her colleges and then found out she got accepted to her dream school: NYU. The reaction was priceless! We couldn’t have been more excited for her if she was our own kid…lol. Speaks to “everything for a reason,” which has been our mantra these past few months. Keep the faith!

Has a scholarship day been announced?

Anyone know if Clemson counts summer starts towards their acceptance rate

They do not. Not summer start or bridge to Clemson.

OOS accepted but very low likelihood that she will attend since Clemson was always a safety. Curious to get opinions from others…would it help kids on the waitlist for her to withdraw now? Just curious how that process works.

My daughter is waiting for Clemson to announce merit scholarships, but she likely will be going elsewhere (she fell in love with another). So, we have thought about this too. My assumption is they have an expected yield rate, so it isn’t like every time someone turns down the offer they open it to a waitlist…but the more that turn it down early the faster they get to the point they are comfortable opening up more spots.

Clemson is my kid’s top choice, and they will be attending… but we withdrew other applications last week out of complete gratitude and understanding of how complicated this process has been for everyone.

Particularly with the FAFSA delays, we didn’t want to tie up any merit for a minute longer than we needed to. Anything we can all do to help admissions offices un-cloud the picture seems like the right thing to do if this cycle has gone relatively well for your family. Because I see a lot of kids deeply disappointed/ stressed/ and panicked about where they will land.

Yep…you make a great point and we plan to withdraw as soon as we’re certain Clemson is no longer in the picture. With the huge increase in applications that many colleges are dealing with I’m not sure how they even estimate yield any more since kids are applying to so many schools.

Same situation here. Clemson in her top 3, so we are hoping for any sort of merit. She already got a little merit from UF. Every school in her top 3 is OOS for us, so every bit counts.

I would assume so. We’ve withdrawn from a few schools so far.

Do you mind me asking where your student preferred? We were accepted to Clemson and are still considering it pending scholarship. It’s one of the highest priced publics out there unfortunately

Sorry if it’s already been stated, but does anyone know the merit scholarship release date for Clemson? Thanks!

Attended a virtual engineering thing last night and the guy said they send merit with need based in one big package and they hope to have that by early/mid April

Ugh that’s so late to have to wait from December til possibly mid April! Clemson is the only school I’m waiting on about merit!
