I’m not sure but Clemson was lower on his list. Unfortunately due to TO his scores didn’t seem to carry the weight they might’ve pre-Covid, and he overshot (he ED’d northeastern and was rejected).
Yes! I agree. I am so thankful that my child has the tank she does. We focused on gpa all these years and didn’t even think about rank because in our minds if you weren’t 1 or 2 it wouldn’t matter anyways. But turns out that for some colleges it is definitely a big factor.
I’ve had a hard time getting more info re Summer Start…so thank you! Was he in state, or OOS?
Class rank is bad for me. There’s 600 people in my class and I’m only in the top 30%. My high school is EXTREMELY competitive
That is a big school. We are in a small town. Although competitive not on the level you have to deal with I’m sure.
While an essay is required for their Honors College, they don’t require it for admission. Thus, I would not worry about doing more than 1 as they might not be reading any of them.
Does anyone still have edit term button?
Yes, the third path for Clemson is called Bridge. Bridge students live on campus and get involved just like other Clemson students, but they take their first year at tri-county community college. If they pass with 30 hours and a 2.5, they are automatically admitted to Clemson as sophomores. So, the acceptance rate is for those students admitted either fall or summer start. The 91% includes Bridge as a path to Clemson. So, the 91% is Fall, Summer, and Bridge combined. Bridge was started to provide a path to Clemson for more in-state students as it became more difficult to get into Clemson.
Depends. If you still want to attend, then don’t withdraw, just be patient and see what happens in Regular Decision. Regular Decision is really when the committee starts taking a deeper dive into applicants.
If true, that sucks. How do they really know anybody’s intentions. We are out in Northern Nevada. My Daughter wants to go to school back east- I grew up in VA and NC. Clemson is in her top 4 (likely top 2), along with UGA, VT, and UNC.
4.0U/4.9W (no idea how this is figured- that’s just what it says)
Ranked 6 out of 505
31 on ACT, but a 36 on English, and a 34 on Writing.
She wants to major in English Lit.
I would hope she doesn’t get denied because we live in NV. She has no desire to go to school in CA.
You child is exactly the type of student that Clemson wants. Almost half of the freshman class is from out of state. Good luck!
I would be shocked if your daughter didn’t get in.
I think it stinks that applicants don’t have a way to truly show their interest in a school. Those are great stats and I don’t see how Clemson wouldn’t want her.
Thanks all. At least everybody will know tomorrow. Good luck to everyone!
We are in OOS. My son ED’d somewhere else, EA’d to Clemson and others. Got his ED Monday night and tried to pull all his apps yesterday. Clemson said you can’t pull it until after Thursday. So I guess it was all finalized before yesterday.
Congrats to your son on his ED! I’m not following the correlation between thinking the decision was made prior to yesterday ? Can you clarify ? Thank you !
My buttons disappeared. But now they came back. What does this mean? ……jk
Just guessing Clemson had finalized their choices and weren’t accepting changes.
My kid didn’t even apply to Clemson but I can’t look away seriously I’m so entertained! Need something to distract me from obsessing over waiting for South Carolina, UGA and UTK
