Hey friend!!! Another original button gater turned real life friend
My daughter did not receive the email about decisions coming out tomorrow and the portal says her app is complete for EA. Did all applicants receive the email?
we received it Monday
Have your daughter check her junk mail. I’m not sure why, but some of the colleges mail goes to the inbox and some can end up in the junk mail.
Pretty sure Palmetto Fellows are auto accepted. May even get a small scholarship from Clemson to supplement the state money. Congrats to your student!
So if you did test optional they don’t offer merit?
I believe that is correct. (OOS) not sure about instate.
Make sure to let us know about getting in tomorrow.
Interesting, I was not aware of this.
Hey Clemson mama friend!! I don’t miss this stress. it is worth it. But I wish all the best of luck to everyone here!
TODAY’S THE DAY!
I’m thinking all the good thoughts for all of our kids!
Good luck to everyone today!!!
Good look to everyone! Thinking happy thoughts
Goodluck to all as well!! I know our kids have worked VERY hard for this day and we have been their biggest supporters. Wishing nothing but the best news for all!!
Yes, I know someone personally who received a $6500/year merit scholarship applying TO during the 2023 cycle. They also got into the Honors College and are thriving. I’m not sure if things have changed in two years or not. All parents should be aware that there is not much OOS merit at Clemson. I’m attaching a graphic that another parent made last year with updated OOS merit awards. I have no idea how accurate this is (it changes every year) but it gives you a general idea. I would assume TO will most likely put you in the $6500 tier merit pool. I believe for low-income, high stat families, a few kiddos received something called an OOS grant which brings the cost closer to in-state. There were disappointed families in late Spring last year when they got the final price tag emails. We had to wait forever - I think it was April 1st – which pushed back decisions at other schools if your kid was waiting for a final number. It was quite stressful. Side note here, kids start to feel pressure about making a college decision to lock in a roommate in like Feb/March because everyone else is, but this usually works out OK if your kid is a late decision-maker. My D made a decision later than most and her roommate situation ended up working out. Her friend who was first to commit and choose a roommate ended up with a random person because her original choice backed out - so you just never know. Also, for newbie college parents, count on the price tag increasing over the next four years – off-campus living (usually, not always) increases costs if they want to live near campus and there are inevitably tuition and fee increases. All things to consider. Clemson is a great school as our so many other colleges out there - kids can thrive in any environment. I have a junior (kid #2) and we’re getting ready to go through this process again next year which is why I’m still lurking on the threads so I can keep up with the ever-changing landscape. Lol. Good luck to all of your kiddos today!! We have a family member who is a current tiger and is loving every minute. It’s an exciting time.
Let the stressful next 9 hours of our life begin! LOL
Really, though, best of luck to all our hopeful future Tigers and us, the parents!
Good luck to everyone! My daughter had her DE bio exam these morning and everyone showed up in Clemson gear because everyone applied. #manifesting
Does anyone here have knowledge of when the nursing dept accepts? I read on a fb thread that all nursing is deferred to regular. Please say that’s not so
Not all nursing is deferred. My oldest was actually accepted in November a few years back. This was exceptionally early because it was before Clemson did EA and decisions were all supposed to be released in mid-February that year. A few high-stats in-state nursing applicants heard before that mass decision release.
