Clemson University Early Action for Fall 2025 Admissions

My son does! His top choice is UVA :joy:

And mine, when we toured UVA, saw two kids who had graduated from his HS the year before and summarily announced that it was out! GAH!

I did convince him to apply to Va Tech as it has the same somewhat niche major that he’s looking at at Clemson, so hopefully he gets into both and has choices. I also told him that he had to look at the four year total cost of all the schools he’s deciding between at the end (god willing there are several) and really think about whether it’s worth the $$ differential to go to the pricier option. We’ll see.

And all this is just whistling in the wind as I am waiting NOT VERY PATIENTLY for 6pm to get here…

Which is her favorite? Good luck! My D is also waiting on both of those (and a few others). So hard to tell what the chances of getting into a direct admit nursing program really are.

Someone mentioned in an earlier comment but I’ll say it again since it seems to be big deal every year near the end of the first semester - Clemson does NOT guarantee on campus housing for upperclassmen. Every year there are many parents completely caught off guard that their child will likely have to move off campus after freshman year.

On top of that they are renovating the high rises which is reducing the number of dorm beds, making sophomore dorm housing very limited.

There is also a distinct sense of FOMO in September and October as kids start immediately looking at off campus housing and signing leases. The apartments downtown are around $2k per person per month. They get cheaper the further you get from campus. It can be a lot of stress for the kids.

This is helpful information. Similar problem at UTK where my older daughter is a junior.

My daughter “only” pays $1400, up from last year, and it’s definitely one of the pricier options. One bedrooms in my state go for about $2000 a month, so I was surprised to pay $1400 in SC.

Yes and applying!

Isn’t this true for most schools?

I’ve had kids at 6 schools, 4 guarantee housing for 4 years, 1 doesn’t but it’s rare not to get housing, with priority given to rising sophomores (freshman have to stay on campus if they live a certain amount of miles from the campus).

Wow, that’s really good. Of the 6 schools my daughter applied to, only 1 of them has on campus housing for sophomores.

It’s interesting, the ones that have housing available are in the northeast where there is less open space, I was surprised BU guarantees housing in an expensive city.

Deferred to Regular Decision for my Son. Decision in February.
