CLEP as part of MnTC transferring to the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities

Hello College Confidential!,
As listed on the University of Minnesota’s web page (https://onestop.umn.edu/degree_planning/changing_college_or_major/minnesota_transfer_curriculum.html) It states that “If you earn an Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree at a Minnesota community college or community and technical college, you are considered to have completed a major portion of the liberal education requirements.” and this is signified by a note on the official transcript. Now I am a student who is starting community college next year as part of PSEO for my senior year, and due to the fact that I only need two credits to graduate from high school, will be starting on my way to earn an Associate in Arts to transfer to the University of Minnesota to act as my generals.

My main question lies in the fact that the U of MN does not accept CLEP credits, but Anoka-Ramsey Community College does. So my main question is, with the goal of getting out of college as debt free as possible (and with a higher density of upper level classes):

If I as a student complete the MnTC using CLEP credits and the 40 or so Anoka-Ramsey forces me to gain from their institution, will that fully transfer to the U of MN as completing the liberal education requirements?

I have been doing some research and it seems from what I have read transfers are done on a class by class basis, not on a degree basis, but if the MnTC works a bit differently or if how an Associate in Arts transfers is unique, I would absolutely love to know. I also have become aware of options like Excelsior University, and other Universities that offer credit for passing tests, but if I were to gain credit from these institutions, and then transfer that credit to Anoka-Ramsey towards an AA, would it transfer as one big block or would I have to transfer from Anoka-Ramsey and Excelsior separately?

Also, if one were to know of any other ideas or suggestions, those are welcomed!

Thank you for taking a look, I appreciate it a ton!

P.S. I apologize if all of these questions are answered somewhere else or if I really should only see an adviser at Anoka-Ramsey about these topics, I just found the results of my searches ether didn’t fit my situation quite right or assumed previous knowledge about the system I did not have. As for talking to an adviser, I hoped College Confidential would provide a non-biased viewpoint about the system before I talked to one. If it is the case that I need to talk to them, any points on what I should ask to get the real responses out of them instead of anything biased?

Misc. Info (Not sure if relevant, but if it helps you folks, I feel free to give it)

30 ACT
3.6 High School GPA
AP Credit in US history and Statistics
Testing for AP Calculus AB (near 100% I will get it), AP world (Most likely will), and AP Language and Composition(I have a slight grudge due to it’s blocking pedagogy and subjectivity, but I am still studying none the less)
Hoping to dual major in Spanish and Linguistics

Again, thank you folks, I appreciate even taking the time to read this as an absolute godsend, I’m sorry for it’s length, and if it’s in the wrong category, feel free to tell me where I should move it (if I even can).

The Transfer Advisor at your CC will be able to help you find out what you need to know. Start with that person. He/she should know all of the details of transferring to U MN-TC.
