CLEP transcript

Hi guys!

I’m new to this forum… I’m currently in college and plan to take CLEP tests so I can get college credits towards the courses I need for my degree.

I know that I can tell them where I want my scores to be sent at the day of my test. BUT… my school needs me to send my official transcript with the form that they have provided in able for them to properly credit me. Therefore, I would have to request an official transcript to be sent to me so I can send it with the form they have provided.

Basically, I need to know approximately how long it would take for CLEP to send me my transcript after requesting it (for me to forward it to my school with the form).

Also, is there another way I can do this?

I tried to call CLEP several times, and none of them gave me direct answer other than "it could take a couple of days… maybe weeks… the school will recieve it fast… it will take the same time to send to you… " When I asked, I just need to know the safest time… a month? they say “well, maybe. It depends, maybe less, maybe more” Basically I was given the round-abouts

So I’m relying on CC to let me know based on experience =]

Thanks guys!
Lala

I’m surprised your school won’t accept the scores sent on the day of the test. I would ask someone else to verify that that won’t work. When my son CLEPs, he has the scores sent the day of the test to his college and within 6 weeks, credit is on his transcript.

I never said they didnt… I said they did BUT they need me to send a form that they provided with it so they can properly credit it…

If anyone ever needs to send an official transcript along with a completed form to their university, yes, you can order an official transcript to be sent to you (for a fee). No one can ever predict with great accuracy when this will arrive in the mail as they don’t have control over the postal system. You can only imagine how many transcript requests they must get, and I’m sure they work through them in the order they are received. Again, an unpredictable time.

The most important thing to remember is that you CANNOT open the envelope once it arrives at your address. Maybe you could write something different on your mailing address so that when you see it you will remember. Your university will only consider this an official transcript if it is presented in an unopened envelope from the testing agency – not opened by you and put in an envelope and addressed by you.
