Cliche and Blase?

I’m planning to apply to Harvard and Princeton for their math or science program… however I’m not sure whether I want to do that or something like Law or philosophy… or both. Would it be to cliche to apply to all three of HYP? Would admissions officers notice and write it off as blase and me as a prestige-whore?

Thanks.

Lots of people apply to all three and some people get into all three.

Is a college football prospect who whittles his choices to Southern Cal, Michigan and Notre Dame a “prestige-whore” or is he trying to play with and against the highest level of talent that he can in order to prepare himself to be as competitive as possible at the next level? H, Y and P get first dibs on the top students in the world. Joining either of those peer groups is one of the greatest opportunities any student could have, and it’s an opportunity that would impact that student’s goals and aspirations for a lifetime. There’s nothing wrong with applying to all three. In fact, if a student is competitive for them, I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t apply to all three.

It’s fully possible he doesn’t like one or more of them (based on location or some other factor).

Of course, if the OP likes all three schools, he should go right ahead.

I would take out Michigan and insert UT-Austin or Florida, but that’s just me :). op, If you feel you would like to go to all three, then by all means apply.

Note that the reference to Notre Dame is to the historical Notre Dame, not the 2007 version :-)

Gadad, GO NAVY :-))))

Admissions officers don’t know what other schools you apply to (your counselor would know, if that’s what you mean)

This should answer your question.
