SAT: 2270… 800 M, 790 W, 680 CR
Definitely retaking for Critical Reading. Aiming for 2300+ for sure
ACT: 34
GPA: 3.78 UW, 4.22 W. 6% in a semi-competitive public school with the most rigorous couses available & an upward trend

Just a little background for myself (my essays, probably lol)… I moved to California when I was 13 years old, and didn’t speak a word of English then. Not an excuse, but yeah, I guess this kind of explains my grades

Extracurriculars:
Choir (4 years next year)- I started out with a girl’s choir at school because there was nothing else to take, but it’s grown to be one of my biggest passions. This past year, I was a section leader and the librarian of the group as well as Choir Club President–which means I delegated all the fine arts events at the school like Battle of the Bands and Talent Show. Next year, I will be the President of the group as well as a section leader. I also was recommended to an honor choir at CSULA and will be doing it for three years by next year.

Yearbook (3 years)- Won awards from Columbia Scholastic Press Association (Silver Crown) and National Scholastic Press Association (Pacemaker). I was the People Editor this year and will be co-EIC’s with two other girls next year. I received some awards at the Yearbook Camp… “Best Camp Story.”

Theatre/Musical Theatre- mostly scattered because of my parents and my schedule, but I started in freshmen year and have been in 6 plays & musicals with some lead/supporting roles. I’m a scholarship recipient for Voice from Professional School for the Arts, and I took private voice and acting lessons throughout high school, a lot of which were on a scholarship.

Speech & Debate (1.5 years)- Just joined last semester, but I qualified for State in Thematic Interp.

California Scholastic Federation (4 years)-general member :d

Church/Volunteering (3 years)- I teach K through 2nd graders how to read and speak Korean as well as English at my church. Is this “enough” volunteering?

I went to Global Young Leaders Conference in DC and New York last summer, and it’s one of those kind of generic leadership conferences that you get nominated for… is this worth mentioning?

This summer, I’m helping my friend plan a variety show to raise funds for cancer research and doing some graphic design (for the organization/show, not a job though).

So, the schools I’m interested are…
Dartmouth (Early)
Amherst
Williams
Middlebury
Pomona
Scripps for a competitive scholarship
Claremont McKenna
Georgetown
Columbia
Wellesley
Northwestern
USC with merit scholarship
UC Berk. & LA
HYPS for the heck of it.

Thanks for reading! Be blunt as much as you want :)

Oh, and I’m an international & applying for finaid
