Don’t move to the white areas.
Our coffee is ridiculously expensive, you will feel pressured to grow a beard and will be shocked by what people wear to work, let alone to the symphony.

You will also get fungus between your toes.

But that’s where all the companies my son wants to work for are located!

It was 108 today, and has been close for the last several days. Weatherman said “cooling off” to the upper nineties…soon…Tomorrow, 106. It’s like that Twighlight Zone episode.

As a former Seattleite, I can tell you ek is correct. Also:

“The people in Seattle don’t tan. They rust.” (Actual saying there)
The local weather people talk about “sun breaks.”
You’ll have to learn how to pronounce Puyallup, Issaquah, Sammamish, and Sequim. Correctly.

Mandatory fan-dom of the Seahawks or the Huskies, or both.
Snow/ice + Seattle hills = [url=<a href=“Sliding Cars in Seattle Snow on 11/22/10 - YouTube”>Sliding Cars in Seattle Snow on 11/22/10 - YouTube]demolition derby/url

Well at least he will be working and not like all the kids who moved to Colorado for the weed.
:)

Wrong about football. Nephew grew up in Green Bay and loves Seattle but will never be anything but a Packers fan. Son moved there and fits right in (he’s not big into football).

Moved to Florida- heat plus humidity in the 90’s is routine. But you can get an inch of rain and still have mostly sunshine here- the big reason we chose here instead of our favored liberal Pacific NW. Temps and dryness are reasons we did not choose the desert southwest. Florida is likely even more casual. We settled inland enough to be where people evacuate TO in case of a hurricane. Some year we might have oceanfront property…

Place names- I have several from Wisconsin that can match WA state’s. And UW instead of U-dub. Is it against the law to have air conditioning in WA??? It would seem so… even new luxury apartments are built without it.

Now- if I could get all of my favorite foods/brands in the grocery store along with the new brands I have discovered (none of the tofu brands are any good here). And why is Florida’s Natural orange juice more expensive here than it was in WI (same month)? Saw WA state red delicious apples in season cheaper in WI than WA years ago.

Oh thanks, I forgot about U Dub. Seattleites are also required to know what to call the cross-state rival school.

If you look at the source article <a href=“Cliff Mass Weather Blog: Will the Pacific Northwest be a Climate Refuge Under Global Warming?”>http://cliffmass.blogspot.com/2014/07/will-pacific-northwest-be-climate.html for the funny one you linked EK, the climatologist actually says,
And it’s #2 or #3 on my rising college seniors list! But, that has nothing to do with weather and much to do with Microsoft!

ek, that’s the school, but what do Huskies call it?

Wazzu. We have lots of die-hard Cougs here, too.

Well not a Husky & my H roots for WSU in football.
My nephew and son inlaw are Cougs.
My daughter & BF are Vikings.

Ah, well maybe it’s only Huskies and not all Seattleites who say it then. Magnetron is right.
