If a class is closed on OPUS while I am trying to enroll, does this mean there is no chance of me taking it? I wanted to take Spanish 1 this year but all the sections are closed on OPUS. Also, I wanted to take Journalism 201 but all the sections but 1 are closed. Could I convince the professors to overload? Or are they closed for a different reason?

At this point, you’ll need to ask for an overload as I’m pretty sure something like 201 will not have seats added. Also, Spanish won’t either as they aim to stay kind of small. You’ll have to ask for an overload and watch OPUS vigilantly to see if someone drops.

So should I find other courses to enroll in instead or should I keep my schedule open to allow for these classes to possibly fit?

I would suggest looking for other courses and then watching OPUS and asking for an overload.

Okay, thanks so much!
