Our son is 6’3", skinny and still growing. It’s driving us nuts trying to find pants for him. Any suggestions on where he can buy online while at Syracuse in the fall. Not much in the way of department stores there. Save us please.
Amazon is your friend
just type in his pant size- ie. 20X36 pants- in the search box and viola’- lots of choices
I entered 29X34 jeans and got hundreds-
here are some slim jeans at a good price

double entry
My 6’3" son wears Old Navy khakis in 32 x 36. They always seem to be running a sale so usually end up costing $16 or $17. They survived the first year of college laundry. The college dryers really ran hot so more shrinkage than home laundry.

J. Crew Factory (outlet stores, also available online) sells a slim line of button-down shirts but they are really slim. They also sell shirts with a longer torso but he doesn’t think he needs those.
Their no-iron shirts are useless (wrinkle) so if he needs wrinkle-free business attire, try Brooks Brothers no-iron in slim cut. They sell in all the usual combination of collar & sleeve dimensions (15.5 x 35 for him).
If he needs a suit, I found the Brooks Bros outlet useful as they offered a 40L jacket & 33 pants.
There are plenty of department stores in Syracuse. Macy’s. Lord and Taylor. JC Penney. Bonton.

But I agree that finding a brand he likes and ordering would work as well. All of the major department stores and most retail stores will ship to him at college.
Look at Lands End website. You can order pants by waist and inseam.
You can try this company, I have heard from someone at work the quality is good.

I can sympathize: it’s really hard to find a 36 length with a waist of 30 or smaller. My 6’3", 164 lb son buys khakis from Davis Big and Tall. They actually have 28 w 36 l. Here’s link
LandsEnd offers free hemming with inseams up to 38".

American Eagle and Gap have a 36" inseam which should be long enough. My 6’2" kid wears a 34" for casual wear and those have some ankle bunching. We also order M Tall shirts at American Eagle, Gap and Old Navy. The tall sizes are usually only available online. That gives him enough t-shirt coverage when he sits.
Here is an example - you can get a 32/36 in a slim straight cut

Second the Old Navy recommendation. Lots of sales too
My very tall H and sons (all 6’5"-6’7") wear lots of L.L. Bean and Brooks Brothers. L.L. Bean clothing is very easy to order online and there is free shipping.
Try Kohl’s.
I am 6’6" and find Eddie Bauer is great for shirts and outer wear. Good quality, fair prices when on sale. The styles might not be the best for your son. I have not tried their pants.
For moms of skinny sons – I’m one – we’ve found that H&M has a great selection of nice, inexpensive clothing. My son is 6’ and weighs 125 lbs. When he’s lucky & after a meal. For pants and shorts, H&M is the way to go.
Forgot to mention that J. Crew sells shorts with an eleven inch inseam. Not as inexpensive as Old Navy, but they seem to fit my son better. Constant sales at J. Crew outlet locations.
Just ordered our 3rd pair of Lands End No Iron chinos in a tailored fit for S2. He wears a 32x36 and he wears them to his summer internships or whenever a nicer chino is needed.
Lands End also has some wonderful No Iron Supima cotton button down shirts.
He has some tall modern fit dress pants from Banana Republic and Old Navy online has tall slim fit jeans for men. (though each color wash seems to have its own interpretaion of tall…) JC Penny online has tall Levis.
Thank you all for the suggestions. Is Amazon the only one shop to get everything? Apparently so. Don’t like shopping at 3 or 4 places just to get a few nice items.
I think you can find a wider selection on Amazon than anyplace else.
