CMSC351 Final Exam Question

If any of you are unaware, CMSC351 is probably one of the most volatile (gentler synonym for ‘unstable’) courses at the university. There is no strict syllabus, we don’t follow the textbook in any order (which is good because it is a graduate level textbook), and he doesn’t have lecture notes. So, the professor has a lot leeway in how he/she runs the course.

Anyway, if there are any computer science majors here who have taken Professor Kruskal for CMSC351, could you please give me any feedback on the final? I felt the midterm review sheet did not do a good job preparing us for the midterm. It even says on the review sheets (both midterm and final) that “This does not necessarily reflect the length, difficulty, or coverage of the actual exam” so we had no idea what to study before the test. I see a repeat performance occurring with the final and was hoping for some feedback.

If this is against some forum rule (talking about a specific section of a class), I apologize in advance.

Thanks,
Eddie

@Eddie, it just sounds like you are responsible for everything you covered. :frowning: It’s difficult but doable. I’ve had several classes like that already. You just do the best you can and hope it’s better than most of the others.

Eddie- I haven’t taken it yet, but I have heard about him before. Ask around the CS undergrad lounge, someone there is bound to have taken it and be able to give some advice
