There’s been several posts asking questions which you’ll find in these two links-- which are somewhat buried on the CMU Admissions page and hard to find.

It’s the source for all answers on requirements to ensure your application is complete-- including school/college specific requirements – don’t overlook anything in these links:

Good Luck!

If you have specific questions about this information-- lots of people here will be happy to help you on CC-- and of course you can phone or email Admissions- they are really helpful.

There’s also an “early estimate” form – so you can get a very accurate estimate of how much CMU financial aid you would be eligible for if accepted.

https://www.cmu.edu/admission/forms/fin_aid/

Make sure you’re honest and don’t undervalue the income and assets-- or the real package you will receive will not be close to what the estimate will be.

Highly encouraged-- it shows you are really interested in the school and the programs are incredibly informative and valuable. (Your parents do NOT stay in the dorm with you.) You meet current students and really get a chance to sample if the CMU “fit” feels right.

If you are attending, sign up in advance for an on-campus interview (totally optional - but the schedule fills up fast)–which is an excellent opportunity to ask questions and also demonstrate your interest in the school.

Diversity Weekends overlap Sleeping Bag Weekends and although intended for “underrepresented” students, they are open to everyone. One of the highlights of this program is a Saturday night Meet-mix with Deans and Faculty from each college in a large room with great food!

Hey everyone,
I’m really happy to be of help and will continue to answer PMs-- I received 5 PMs today alone about some items that seem to have been overlooked in the instructions.

It’s really important to check these- not only at CMU but everywhere you apply-- make sure you go through the check list. Incomplete applications are rejected - no excuses.

YES-- You need SATII subject tests–(unless you’re in Art/Drama).

Good luck to everyone!
