I applied to two schools at CMU (College of Humanities and Social Sciences and Mellon College of Science)…I applied to MCS not realizing that there was an SAT II requirement (one science)…

This was a careless oversight and very well should nullify my application at MCS…however, could my carelessness perhaps project a negative image of me that would hurt my chances at CHSS??

Thanks for any input :)

Depends on your major, program and stats. The CHSS has lower requirements than say the SCS. I don’t know if you can change your program, it is risky because you most likely wrote about in your essay why you wanted to apply to MCS and CCHS and you can’t change that. If you haven’t registered for any other colleges, now’s the time.

I almost made a mistake like yours. I took Math 2 and World History and I originally wanted to go to SCS but I didn’t take an Science SAT II. But I choose Information Systems as my program instead before the deadline.
