CNU Early Action 2020

My older daughter was a finalist for the presidential scholarship a few years ago. We went and they sort of wined and dined us but really it was about them talking up the school. I kind of think they already knew who was getting the scholarships. She ended up not getting the scholarship but was accepted to both the honors and PLP programs. This came with a $5000 scholarship that was tied to the PLP. She could have dropped the honors program and kept the scholarship but could not keep the scholarship if she dropped PLP. She ended up going to a different college where she got a full ride. My research tells me that it would be very difficult to be in both the PLP and Honors programs but I guess the kids they select can do it.

My daughter did not receive her letter but is now able to log into the admitted students portal under admissions/admitted students. Once logged in it gives the option to accept your offer and make a deposit. Has anyone else tried this?

My daughter tried this, and it worked! Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for posting this! My son is in!

My D won’t try it. She wants to wait until tomorrow. I just hope they mailed the decisions accordingly. We’re in Maine so it could take an extra day to get here. Wish I knew her login ?‍♀️?‍♀️ Although it’s probably good I don’t!!

I dont think you need her login. I went onto admission page and I just clicked on accepted students and then put in my sons name birthdate and email and it took me to the page that said COngratulations

My daughter also emailed her CNU admissions counselor because lots of kids at our school got their letters. She told her all letters were sent out at the same time so hopefully all letters arrive tomorrow.

We are also still waiting on our letter but my daughter was able to log into the accepted students page. We live an hour from CNU. I would have expected to get it by now. Here is the link to login. http://cnu.edu/admitted/freshman/

Thanks for the tips! My DS got in!!! he also got into UMW which he is more interested in but nice to have choices. Waiting on VCU.

It’s creepy because essentially you can see who got in as long as you have that info!

I didn’t check. I wanted her to be the first to know. But, there are 2 pieces of mail that informed delivery doesn’t have images for!! I have found that the big envelopes don’t show up!!!?

Hello, everyone! Thanks so much for sharing info and the suggestion to check the Admitted Students page on the CNU site. I checked our mailbox last evening and nothing! Aargh!! We’re awaiting my daughter’s decision. Hard to believe CNU still uses snail mail. Has anyone received their mailing today, Wed., Jan. 15? Good luck!

Yes, very creepy!

MommaBearof 2,

My son still hasn’t received his snail mail acceptance (we live in Prince William county, VA.) And yes, we’ve already received today’s mail (Wednesday January 15.)
My husband checked the admitted student page last night and said my son got in, but we haven’t told him yet; we’d like it to be a surprise when it comes in the mail.

Finally came today in the mail in Nova ?

Ugh, I have a feeling we’ll be disappointed when todays mail comes. If it hasn’t made it to places in VA, I find it hard to believe it’ll make it to ME.

Nothing in today’s mail ?

Thanks,VARunnerMom!! We’re in Prince William County also. I’ll be checking the mailbox as soon as I get home (6:30/7 pm). Although I’m checking, I haven’t told my daughter or my husband that I’m checking. Getting back to checking on the CNU Admitted Students web page, I did this and was able to get to the section where it asks you to darken the radio button to accept the admissions offer or decline. Is that really it/all it takes to know if your student/child was admitted? It seems too easy in this age of so many privacy issues.

Thank you Danieller and mamawitch for your posts/mail updates!!!

I agree that it seems too easy. I was wondering what the page looks like if someone didn’t get in. Does it give an error of some kind?
