Co-op Room Bids

<p>I’m moving into one of the co-ops in January, and I was curious if anyone here has gone through the room bid process.</p>

<p>I know we get to tour the vacant rooms and we have the ability to choose a roommate.</p>

<p>Do we have to choose a roommate? What happens if we aren’t able to find one we’re compatible with?
Is there a meet and greet for those without roommates, or a compatibility survey?
Are co-ed rooms popular? The thought of sharing a room with another girl is very unappealing…</p>

<p>There is a week or two of temporary room assignments during which you can get to know the layout of the co-op, and hopefully meet people with whom you are compatible. If you are not living in HiP House or Convent (sounds unlikely), you’ll more than likely be sharing a room with someone for at least the first semester. There is a point system. The more points you have, the better room you can bid on.</p>
