<p>I’m the father of a CCU BFA student who also didn’t want to be in the Deep South for college, based on the conservative leanings in our community that had led to some issues with her high school theatre program. She was looking at schools in NY, NJ, DC… Until a Tony winner encouraged us to look at Coastal Carolina during a NYC workshop a couple of years ago (note to parent who asked if it is well-regarded in the industry). She went to an audition weekend begrudgingly and fell in love - with the program, the people, the philosophy. So did we! She’s been very happy and feels she’s receiving top quality training and experience at Coastal in a challenging and robust program that is nevertheless supportive. Coastal was the perfect choice for her.</p>
